Wearing all black, knee pads and a gas mask, and carrying what looked to be a machine gun, the man walked into the Metro Clothing store on Seattle's Capitol Hill, which was sponsoring a zombie crawl to promote the Crypticon Horror Convention. He was briefly detained by police, then went on to win a costume contest. (KOMO TV)
The moral of the story is: if you're doing something weird, don't be the first to show up. Then you'll just be the ONE wierdo in the room.

Actually, I find this ok--although I'm thinking the guy was not arrested; just stopped by the police and asked the equivalent of "WTF"?
Somebody dropped the ball though--when sponsoring events like that, you need to a least give the cops a HeadZup. And, uh, the police need to pay attention to what the community tells them.
At least the Seattle cops showed up when told there was an armed person in a store. They didn't even bring their tank and SWAT this time. Last week they used their high priced SWAT talent to bust a modest "hands only" brothel run by a middle aged woman.

The terrorists read the internets! Now they will know how to cover their crimes next time!!
At least the cops seemed intelligent in this case.

That is a pretty convincing looking fire arm. If you wear grenades and a rifle into a shopping center, then you shouldn't be surprised if you get the attention of the police.
Zombies with guns? Aren't guns against the Zombie Code?

No guys, he was dressed as an 'Umbrella Corporation' commando from 'Resident Evil'. He did look pretty convincing!

My buddy got Resident Evil 5 over the weekend and it's got enough Zombie stopping action to daze an elephant, or a hyperactive 9 year old after a trip to a candy store. Graphics are great, but it's a pita to run and look around you which makes it likely that sooner or later you'll get chainsawed in the neck by a particularly rude zombie. Pretty good game and with graphics that make you feel like you're there, it adds notable context to the Human/Zombie dichotomy...

If you want awesome zombie action, you need to play Left 4 Dead. Hands down, its the best zombie game to hit consoles and PC's yet. Playing it with friends is a blast!

I heard that Lupin. I am short of funds now, so relying on the choice(s) of friends. I am thinking maybe Dead Space next. Finally got sick of Fallout...

Hmmm, living in Seattle, I have wondered just what is 'too weird' for Capital Hill. I guess we found it. :)

Lupin, I have to disagree---the best zombie game of 2009 is clearly Plants Vs. Zombies. I am addicted to this game--never have I laughed out loud so many times while playing a "casual" PC game. It's awesome and brilliant. =D

I review videogames semi-professionally (shameless plug: game-over.net). I found Left 4 dead too short. Plants vs. Zombies is great fun, but geared towards a very different crowd. Dead Space was great - very creepy. Just finished a review of Killing Floor - not so good. I also loved Fallout, but got very tired of the VATS.

Zombie games are great fun, but I'm still waitin' for the real ones....THAT's gonna be great!!!!!

@SkyGrrl - I don't think it was too 'wierd' (I doubt there is such a thing for Capitol Hill), just that he looked 'dangerous' with all those 'weapons' strewn about his body.

All's well as ends better ... at least until the undead break down the mall doors in search of our delicious manflesh.
