Poor lady. Money will never replace what she's lost. Sad.
That being said...Dammit Jim! Wisconsin! (<-- my best Jerry Seinfeld talking about Newman voice) Ok we are 1 for 1 today.

Win some, lose some, I guess.

Go Wisconsin! Go Wisconsin!

It's the feel-good story of the day!
She'll be fine as long as she doesn't blow it on limos, gambling and hookers like that idiot who won the West Virginia lottery.

Yep, God saw she needed help and gave her a blessing. And then he gave the kid down the block cancer because he had things too good.
Posted by: G-Man | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 09:12 AM
call me crazy but I don't think winning the lottery would ease my pain if my son was murdered....
Posted by: twerp | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 09:13 AM
Did she use the dead kid's age as well?
Posted by: SwarthyTroll | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 09:40 AM
I guess God must've been bending over to tie His shoe when her son was murdered, and figured He should try and make up for it by throwing her some cash. Money will make everything better, after all.

WELL THEY FOUND OUT WHAT THEIR KID WAS WORTH FOR SURE

My mom used to tell me that god AKA the invisble sky wizard told her that he was curing her cancer. He spoke to her in her kitchen more than once and personally told her this. Well that son of a b*itch lied because Jan 18th at 1pm my mom died.
I'm getting some money from my mothers death but I'd rather have my mother than a life insurance policy and having to sale a home. The money will be nice and I can use it but it won't make me miss her any less.

She'd better watch out for that sister who was even more excited than she was.

Of course, Wisconsin has an edge over other states because I grew up there (and worked the police beat for a few years in Milwaukee).

Oh YEAH! Jim's on MY side!!! I'm gonna win for sure!!!!!
Posted by: USMerc | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 12:04 PM
I know you wield the ultimate power here Jim, but I still have faith in the Stupid that pours out of Florida on a regular basis!
Posted by: RockyMtnMac | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 12:19 PM

@Merc - I thought the song went 'On, Wisconsin...'. Oh well.
@TAG - Sorry for your loss, have a beer (or whatever) on me. On the other hand, it's good to have you back! Another troll fighter - woo hoo!
Posted by: Navy Chief | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 01:04 PM
TAG--Add my condolences to the rest, sir...
Chief--I'm really not sure how the song goes...I'm probably the last person in the world you want to hear singing! (More pleasant to hear cats fight...)
Everyone--SHHHHHHH Be vewy, vewy quiet...We're huntin' twollies!!!

Sorry for your loss TAG. The visible doctor wizards have me waiting for the same thing soon. Good luck with the house.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. My mom had colon cancer and she had stopped chemo early last year as it was not working. I gave her till the end of 2008 to live and she made it 18 days more than I expected. She was only 64 is that part that sucks.
On the bright side a very serious offer was made on her house today and the people want to close on April 27th and anyone trying to sell a house right now knows how hard it is to get a serious offer.
But once again, thank you Lynn, Sheila, Troschne, RockyMtnMac, Phranqlin, Navy Chief and USMerc. I really appreciate it.
Now I need a tissue.

TAG, I'd like to add my condolences.
When my Ma died, I did the speaking and talked about all the fun & good times she had in life.
We all felt a lot better about it all after that.
Posted by: A.V. | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 04:51 PM
SteveO and A.V. thank you as well and best of luck with your outcome and as my post below yours states we did get a very serious offer on the house.
A.V. my sisters and I are having a celebration of life in Maryland in late July for our mother as she was cremated. It will be a happy event with lots of pictures and give a chance for anyone to speak about the positive and joy she brought to others and remember the good times when she was alive.
This is the first time I've been able to post anything about it and while it stirs emotions it also helps. It's also nice to read from some of you regulars your nice messages as I know you all mean it from your heart and that means a lot to me.
Tissue time again.

Merc - I have a bit of an advantage, I suppose. Our local high school uses that song for THEIR fight song.

We always knew you were an ol' softie, TAG. ;-)
Posted by: Navy Chief | Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 05:30 PM
Navy Cheif I am a very nice person but when I need to be an asshole I can turn it on very quickly. When I worked as a LEO I was the nicest person in the world till you gave me a reason not to be.
When it's time to dance. I can and will become the person you don't want to dance with because you will not win.

TAG---if it gets too hard, just sing the peanut butter song with your daughter...
and all of you trolls take note: a real man is not afraid to have and show tears and tenderness.

Whoa, TAG! When you said LEO, the first thing I thought of was Low Earth Orbit! I need my coffee!
@Lynn - You got THAT right!
