I love that Portland, with its hipster reputation, still embraces the "Perry Mason" show -- and during the noon-hour. "It's untouchable," says KPTV's general manager. "We can add shows and take others off the air, but 'Perry' is nothing to fool with." (Portland Oregonian)

Makes me want to move to Portland. I loved that show when I was a kid, still do.

We're lucky here in Chicago. We have Me-TV (ch. 23); which is an all classic shows station. They show Perry at least a few times a week.

Note to self: Portland sucks.

Actually, just took a look at the schedule and they're now showing here twice a day- 9am and 8pm.

I suspect it's because of that handsome Paul Drake that has the ladies tuning in day after day at noon.

Liberals have utterly destroyed this once great nation and I guess Perry reminds people of what things were like before the liberals.

Swarthy - You must be confused. Bush was not a liberal.

I always like the detective and the district attorney. They never seemed to get anything by Perry, Della and Paul Drake.

I've lived in Portland, OR my whole life and grew up watching Perry Mason on TV first with my grandma and then on my own. It's a classic!

I live here, in Portland, and didn't even know it was still on! I remember as a kid, staying home sick or during summer break, only have 5 channels to pick from (this was before the days of eighteen thousand satellite channels). It was either a soap opera on the main three networks, PBS, or Perry Mason. All equally lame choices for a youngster.

I didn't grow up in Portland, but in my local area they also show Perry Mason at noon. One of my favorite memories of being little and being home from school when I was sick was watching Perry Mason with my daddy.

When I was a kid we used to go home from school at lunchtime and watch Perry on KPTV. (I lived upriver in Goldendale, Wash, where Portland TV was all we got.) It's indescribably cool that it's still going on some 30 years later.
