You may recall that the College of St. Catherine's in St. Paul has refused to host political figures -- including Hillary Clinton and Al Franken -- in an effort to show neutrality during the election season. About 30 students -- that's all?! -- protested the policy on Monday. (Minneapolis Star Tribune)
Yet another example of the dumbing-down of higher education. Nice to see some push-back from the students, though.

As sick as I am of all the mudslinging in this election, if I were I student, I'd welcome the peace--although it is a stupid idea from the administration.

Wow, 30 out of 5,200 students actually gave a crap. Those aren't good numbers.

justsayin: its worse than you think. if tax breaks for the middle class means socialism, we're all praying to karl marx already. do you realize our police, fire departments, and road repair are socialized?
i mean. what color are fire trucks? red. Like the commies and satan.
of course McCain is for small government, which by our previous logic means he's an anarchist.

It's a cathloic School mostly for women. What do you expect? The formentioned are democrats and liberals, the fact that 30 students stood up for themselves at all is amazing in and of itself. The nuns there are scary.

This was in no way an attempt to censor students. Please see news story at enclosed url. Scroll down to see link to president's letter.
Meeting with students Tuesday was open, productive and positive.
