Theater managers switched one of the showings of "High School Musical 3" to a larger auditorium to accommodate more people, but forgot to switch the movie -- Sex Drive -- that had been scheduled for the room. "I couldn't carry my little children out before they were exposed to extremely vulgar and sexually explicit material," one parent complained.

"...exposed to extremely vulgar and sexually explicit material..."
Not as vulgar and nasty as HSM3 though.

How times have changed.
I remember my parents took us with them to the drive-in theater to see Airplane!, and it was a double feature. The second movie was a porn flick that included mother/adult-son incest.
Then again, my parents were not exactly paragons of good role models.
---
If it had happened to me, I would have just asked the kids to get up, let's go, obviously we're in the wrong theater. If I made a fuss, they'd want to know more, instead of just accepting my statements as truth.

LMFAO!!

That's pretty funny until they all get arrested for endangering their children or some crap. I'm sure Utah has a law against showing kids porn...

Those people have a right to be upset, but not as upset as I would be if I went to see Sex Drive, and High School Musical came on instead.

They didn't figure out it WASN'T "High School Musical 3" the minute the film started rolling? The trailers alone should have given them a clue.
But they scored free passes and popcorn from the theater AND got to watch "HSM 3" so this story has a happy ending. I'd take that deal ... well, actually, I'd rather gouge my eyes out with my bare fingernails than pay to see that lame bit of tween fluff, but you get the picture.

But what about the children?!?!?!?
Sorry, I just had to.
Posted by: Mikey | Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 10:42 AM
Oops! Our mistake. That really was HSM3! It was just a little more realistic than the first 2.

What is the difference in the sexual inuendo of "Sex Drive" and the sexual inuendo of HSM3?
(I don't either)

JUST A BIT OF EARLY EDUCATION ABOUT A NATURAL EVENT IN LIFE IS ALL.
Posted by: | Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 10:52 AM
Bah... parents are so uptight these days. When I was a young whippersnapper, I walked in on my parents watching some horror flick. I didn't ask about it. Just covered my eyes, asked them what I needed to ask, turned around, and went back to bed with my blankie.
I was four. And certainly not scarred for life from that incident. If parents don't make a big deal out of something (mine didn't), then kids don't get the idea, "Hey! I should cry and carry on over this...whatever it is!"

I bet if the movie was showing grotesque violence no one would've been upset...but GOD FORBID!!!!! it was sexual in nature!
Posted by: cherie | Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:03 AM
So do you think the theater be fined for distributing 'obscene' material to minors?
Posted by: Kee | Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:13 AM
I have no comment other than this article is HORRIBLY written. I like this sentence in the last paragraph: "For future movies."
Posted by: T | Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:16 AM
I was going to comment on how I bet the parents freaking out does more to scar the kids than anything else, but then I remembered that one scene in Elvira: the Movie where she messes up the recipe she sends out to the uptight peoples picnic or whatever that was and now I'm laughing to hard for rational thought or punctuation.
I'm soryy, it's funny and nothing like that ever happens to me, dangit.

Soo...can you put me in touch with your parents?? Sounds like I'd like to party with them....
Posted by: dANO | Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 12:18 PM
The five stoned dudes who thought they were sneaking in to Sex Drive actually watched HSM3 all the way through. They, curiously, still talked glowingly about the scene with the Amish Seth Green, but were disappointed at the lack of something called "boobage"...

Lol, Bill.
Oh, OS&RR, what would we do without you?
Posted by: Sigh | Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 12:28 PM
Just wait... the director of High School Musical is making a remake of Footloose now.
Talk about horror.

I'll bet $10 that this multiplex has digital projection by computer with no projectionist.

The film you speak of is Taboo, a drive-in classic-along with Cheerleaders Wild Weekend
Believe me-I was there

So....they didn't notice the different ratings on the trailers and the movie itself?
Whatever. Stupid Christers are always butthurt and blaiming someone else.

im sorry but when that movie was about to start there where previews showing the movie, so the parents should of got the clue and left then but i guess complaining and getting free stuff gets us all the time.
