A brown hen took up residence outside a McDonald's in Temecula, Calif. and neither the employees nor the customers can catch her. It's been almost four months since the chicken arrived and she appears to have settled in for the long roost, frequently blocking lunch-hour traffic in the drive-through. (Press-Enterprise || Update: The chicken was nabbed after being distracted by a hamburger bun. (Associated Press)
What chicks aren't distracted by buns?

Perhaps McDonald's was looking to expand their 'gourmet' menu with a little free-range chicken...
After I read the bit about someone feeding bacon to the chicken, I started getting a little nervous that this would turn into a cannibal chicken story. That chicken's name wasn't 'Hannibal', by any chance?

"After I read the bit about someone feeding bacon to the chicken, I started getting a little nervous that this would turn into a cannibal chicken story."
The South Park guys fed bacon to a pig named Macon. It was funny.

I am S T A R V I N G now, thank you! And it'll be almost 3 hours before I get some lunch in me. Yum, chicken sounds good.
I find it hard to believe that it took 4 months to catch one chicken! The chasers must not have been as hungry as I am right now....

"The bird won't end up on the menu. It has been sent to live as a pet with other chickens at the home of a restaurant worker."
I'm sure he'll find a nice warm pot to keep it in.
