College columnist fired for writing that all Arabs should be strip-searched at airports

Jillian Bandes (left) wrote in Tuesday's "Licensed to Jill" column in the UNC-Chapel Hill Daily Tar Heel: "I want all Arabs to be stripped naked and cavity-searched if they get within 100 yards of an airport. I don’t care if they’re being inconvenienced. I don’t care if it seems as though their rights are being violated." She was fired on Wednesday. "I wanted to get people talking," Bandes says. "I did that. It also got me fired." (Carolina Journal)
