There are a lot of "keepers" on this OS&RR page from December 2003, including:
* Man is tired of woman sneaking into his yard to take care of his dog
* Seniors citizens calling for tax info get adult chat line instead
* Drive-thru customer gets a bank bag instead of her usual bagel
* Teen suspended for five days for swiping nuggets from the lunch line
* Mascot pops the question during high school basketball game

I like how the logo / banner finally shows up here in its final form. Gives the whole thing a finished feel.

That was Jason Kottke's design, from Kottke.org.

For some reason, I remember the "drive-thru customer getting the bank bag instead of her usual bagel" story.
Jim, did you pair that story with another story before? I didn't start visiting this site until 2007 so I'm wondering if you may have reposted it with a similar story.
Jim, have fun in semi-retirement. I'm really going to miss all of your hard work on maintaining this site. I just wish you the best and hope you enjoy your free time. My dad retired recently and has really enjoyed the free time with all of his hobbies and civic clubs. Have fun!!
