
A jail phone system glitch mistakenly deposited credit into inmate trust accounts for each incomplete call. After four hours of dialing a combination of local, long-distance and international numbers, Larry Stone had accumulated more than $1,250 — enough money to bond out of jail. Others heard about the glitch and exploited it, too, before jail officials caught on.

The telecommunications company makes a huge profit off inmates, so I don't have a lot of sympathy for them.
