
Drew Curtis is a Facebook and Foursquare friend and I noticed that he's been spending some time at UC Berkeley. I asked him if he's preparing for life after Fark and if he's getting offers for the site. He answers my questions on my Poynter page.

...and they have a whole crew of people available to update on weekends. (He's said in interviews that he was inspired by Obscure Store in the late 90s. He ended up a multi-millionaire....and I didn't! Not that there's anything wrong with that.

As one of the 4 original Fark admins (haven't been affiliated for over a decade, though) ... I can affirm that obscurestore was one of the sites that we used to find links to interesting stories, before we started getting a lot of user-submitted stuff.
