She and other students making senior boards presentations were judged in six categories: research, project, organization, delivery, professionalism and visual element/technology.
Each category was worth four points, and an average of 2.5 points was needed to pass. Gaby Rodriguez was close to 4.0. (Yakima-Herald.com)

She had a lot of guts ( started to say male gonads, but it wouldn't apply). She was rejected by a lot of her "friends" during the expirment.

Even the pope lies, everybody does, even if it's a white lie. She got a scholarship and a better chance at life than her family had.

All's well that ends well. She gets a good grade, a scholarship, and best of all, doesn't have to deal with a little sprog until she's actually ready to pop one out.

While I do fault the lying, I know that the movie 'gentleman's agreement' is based on the same type of lie.
Unfortunately there are certain types of discrimination that you cannot understand until you have them actually happen to you - if you could, there wouldn't be discrimination.

Grifter in the making.

Personally I think it was a very interesting social experiment. I think it show initiative and stick-to-itiveness. It likely has caused a lot of needed discussion about attitudes and how people are judged and ostracized. It may have triggered people to think about their reactions, speculation and possibly even their moral judgment.
Rather than a "grifter" or a "liar" I suspect she might make a good scientist or economist.

My wife hates this chick for what she did. (Telling your boyfriend's parents you're pregnant when you're not? That's fkkked up.). That's why I love my wife! :-)

Hey here's a nice social experiment. I'm going to tell a random older couple they are about to be grandparents. Just because I want to see their reactions for my school project. Then I'll spring it on them it was all a fake and to boot, I'll analyze their every facial expression the whole time and publicize it all for millions of people. This is gonna be fun, and I'm gonna get a great grade! What could go wrong?
