Man, 21, arrested for enrolling in school as a 16-year-old student
The high school principal says the man, who attended the school for a year, "was well-behaved, he had good attendance and was making academic progress up to a certain point." Dubuque Times Herald)
Wouldn't it have been simpler just to take a GED prep class?

Sure it would have been simpler, but he wouldn't have had a chance to mingle with all the young nubile girls.

Who the HELL wants to go BACK to high school???

He saw the movie "Never Been Kissed" and thought, "Well, there's a good idea!"

this made me sad
wonder if he even knows (knew) about the possibility of getting a GED

I think we should keep this guy and send two of ours who do not want to go to high school back to Mexico in his place.

Except for his being an illegal immigrant and a guy, this sounds like an episode of Dragnet. Sgt Joe Friday and the "student's" counselor were both considerably more understanding, however.
Does anyone happen to know how good Mexican public schools are, btw?

Amen, Ron G. I say let the guy keep going until he graduates.

A bean eater again.

Sounds like someone told him that Americas schooling is 'free'.( unless your a property owner)
So he decided to give it a try.

Bean eaters? What, is the guy a vegan?
Posted by: Phranqlin | Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 11:57 AM
Sounds like the guy had good intentions...too bad he didn't go the GED route. I agree with Ron...send two of our high school dropouts to Mexico...keep him...

That would be my hometown paper, the Dubuque Telegraph Herald, not the "Times Herald" as speculated in the blurb.

The fact that he went undetected for a year should mean that they have to keep him. He is sort of grandfathered in, by this point.

Point of Reference, I enjoy the fact that we have productive LEGITIMATE citizens of Hispanic heritage.
I do NOT include them in any way when I say "BOOT the Beaners Back Below the Border!" GTFO illegals.
If he wants an education go back home and GET one!
DON'T expect us to pay for it.
Points for motive, but FAIL for execution.

I am a bit conflicted here.
Proud to live in the USA and really happy to be born here.
But.
I had to start treating other people as human beings some time ago; not as beaners, blacks, chinks; well you get the idea.
I am really getting tired of the 'fear the stranger' crap that is getting shoved down our throats lately, come on guys just start another war already.
Oh, wait.

That would be my hometown high school. Yay!
