The diamond ring was with the spare change the woman gave to the 44-year-old man.
"My first thought was to go pawn it," the guy admits, "but I’d only get about $20 to $50. It’s probably worth more to the woman who had it so I’m going to try and get it back to her."

So, the touching tale of a homeless guy trying to get more than $50 for a diamond ring... [sniff] hold on, I'm starting to tear up.

Then again, plenty of homeless guys would have opted for the $50 pawn over trying to give the ring back to its owner. She will probably reward him for his efforts, so it's a win-win situation.
