St. Paul tavern ends controversial "drink like an Indian" campaign
The sports bar's poster -- it included a photo of a scantily dressed woman in Pocahontas-like attire -- said: "Drink like an Indian, party like a pilgrim."

"They had a picture of a woman on there, too. We don't dress like that."
I'm here in OK and from what I've seen of most of The Tribes, I glad they don't.

For the record... they had the slogan backwards, as the Pilgrims were the bigger drinkers. It appears the average Pilgrim adult drank over half a gallon of beer a day. It was probably light beer, but still...

For the record, I heard or read that Pilgrims did not drink alcohol at all Mad Scientist

For the RECORD people, EVERYONE drank watered down alcohol in them days!!!
Alcohol kept you from getting the runs...or much, much worse.
Only a complete idiot would drink straight water in a populated environment, and that WOULD certainly include people in the "New World" colonies, too. The scenery might have changed with the geography, but ALL the same old "bugs" came along for the ride.
My gawd, don't anyone have a historical perspective???
So much for those college degrees, hunh?

The Mayflower didn't land where it did due to the nice scenery or abundant resources. They stopped because they ran out of BEER! Alcohol was the only method of sanitizing their water source and, contrary to popular belief, drinking among everyone was common back then. The taboos of drinking which still hang about our necks like a rock were more products of the late 19th century/early 20th century prohibition movement.

Fire Water???
Party like a Pilgrim is MUCH WORSE. Those pilgrims were all religious zealots. They didn't party AT ALL.
Now Miss Poke-a-hot-ass in the picture is mighty fine.

A better slogan would have been "drink like a highlander." Everybody knows the Scottish can outdrink anybody.

Ah yes... the its okay to discriminate against these kinds of people but not those kinds. Yep, perfect circular logic.
