Winds were stronger than 50 mph and yet Notre Dame football jocks made a student get on a scissors lift to videotape their practice. The lift fell and now the young man is dead. (Shortly before his death, he tweeted: "Holy (expletive) holy (expletive) this is terrifying.")

Two heads are better than one.
Therefore, even though the kid felt unsafe, he was counting on the many football coaches, staff, and his work supervisors to use their collective brain power to say, "Ok kid, its time to bring you down from there. It's getting too dangerous."
His safety was implied by the adults around him. They didn't feel he was in grave danger, so he trusted them.
Its a tragic accident with awful consequences. But nothing here has anything to do with political party.

You wouldn't find me up on that lift even on a calm day. Somewhere a lawyer is licking his chops...

Kudos to Max H for a succinct and accurate summation.
And deepest condolences to the kid's family and friends.

I don't think it was very bright to be tweeting while up there also trying to do the work; similar to texting while driving. I wonder if that fact will come into play.

Geez, what the hell is wrong with people?
Ok, so there's no middle road here. Everything's black or white. Republican or Democrat.
Don't make this tragedy into some political showdown.
This has NOTHING to do with politics.
I am so DAMN SICK of everything boiling down to LEFT or RIGHT these days. AND don't EVEN get me started on these bullshit attack ads coming from both sides of this effin election.
Take your politics and shove them up your ass and quit bringing that shit into debates where it has no relevance.
