City to pay McDonald's $312,000 because new bridge blocks sign
Poor McDonald's! A recently constructed pedestrian footbridge has hurt its business because drivers can't see its sign. The fast-food chain sued and will collect over $300,000. (Wisconsin State Journal)
From the photo it looks like motorists driving out Washington Avenue can see one Golden Arch.
It;s the most recognized logo in the world, what do these idiot drivers think when they see one arch? They are arriving in St. Louis??

Our litigious society at work!
The city should have paid for either moving or raising the sign if the line of sight was blocked by the bridge.

would it have cost the city more than $300,000 to put up an advertisement for McDeusch?

What were the city engineers doing during the original planning and surveying? How much were they paid to obviously NOT do their jobs?
This isn't Micky D's fault. They were there, first.

All you folks bashing McDonalds, ask yourself this question: if it had been a small mom-n-pop that was losing business because of the bridge, how would you have reacted to this story?
No, don't start typing a reply. I don't care to read it. Here's what I want you to do: Think about your answer and reflect on the anti-corporatism and neo-communist ideology that is being peddled by modern academia, and consider the potential for long-term cultural and economic damage it represents. Assuming you possess the ability to be honest with yourself, I believe you'll find that your moral high-horse isn't nearly as sturdy as you assume.

signs for specific fast food places are frequently seen on exit signs in CA, could have had a low-cost and easy fix
