You'd think a retired pilot would know not to pack flares
The 57-year-old man called his financial adviser from jail and said, "I made a mistake. I don't know what I was thinking." She defends the retired pilot, saying "he's not a terrorist; he's a stand-up guy." (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)

He may not be the brightest pilot in the drawer.
I mean, if I were arrested for bringing flares in my carry on, I don't think I would be calling my Financial Adviser from jail. Lawyer maybe, family maybe, flare company who said "oh yeah, you can bring those on a plane" but not financial adviser.

Yeah, what is with calling his financial advisor? And to top it off the financial advisor is speaking to the media for him as if she *were* a lawyer! Flares in a pipe? That sounds like a homemade explosive...

Gunpowder in a pipe -- was this guy running a trial run for further mis-deeds?
