Magician jailed after pursuing girl, 12, he met at birthday party
Shane Wright performed magic tricks at a 13-year-old girl's birthday party last summer, and gave his phone number to most of the girls present and also asked for the 12-year-old's number. He then pursued her. (Santa Cruz Sentinel)
He only got 6 years???????? not only does he magically pull his wanker out of his pants, he did magic with the judge too.

"Wright also is involved in renaissance fairs and has a "unconventional vagabond lifestyle," according to the District Attorney's Office."
Are a disproportionally high percentage of renaissance fair aficionados living unconventional vagabond lifestyles child rapists or something? It seems an odd bit of information to include in such a short story...

Ugh, magicians are just slightly less creepy than clowns. They both give me the skeeves.

"unconventional vagabond lifestyle" = orgies on LSD with furries.

Wright encouraged the girl to seek emancipation from her parents. She thought they had "deep and meaningful conversations" and he seemed "mystical," according to Taylor
OK. Maybe it is just me, but this guy will eventually be released and he likely will do it again. They all do.
Possible solution? Death today.

What 13 year old wants a magician for their birthday party?

Based on personal experience it isn't very difficult to convince a kid to sneak out i used to do it all the time when i was a teen. As for RenFaire well you used to find an interesting cross section of people there, but they are pretty damn tame these days.

What a dirtbag!
So, even Ren-Fest is falling into corporate / consumer Uni-culture. Bummer, dude!

Hey baby... call me... before you reach that ripe old age of 15. Ewwww.
The problem with the women at RenFest... at least to him, is that they have grown breasts.

He'll learn some new tricks in the prison shower, like how to make a salami disappear.
