Jail inmates ordered to wear hot-pink shirts "for security reasons"
"If one of them slips over the wall, we want to know about it right away," says the undersheriff. But a lawyer contends the intent is humiliation. (Of course it is!)

It takes a lawyer to point out the obvious - the inmates are clowns.

I say get them clown shoes too!

Tthat's been done in Arizona and elsewhere, and it's hardly a constitutional violation. Also, why is this newsworthy? Apparently, the change took place more than a year ago.

Actually a pink button down oxford looks pretty good with a light blue blazer and faded jeans.
Oklahoma could set a fashion trend by being home to the first preppy prison.

Hey your in jail, HELLO!! You are meant to feel stupid. Suffer!

Cruel? Unusual? Nope. Nope.

These guys are incarcerated for crimes against humanity, not crimes against fashion.

I endorse thomas sartorial commentary! Most guys look great in pink--unless they are the bloodshot irish type.

I think they're cute! They just need a cinch! What do I have to do to get one?

That needs to be on the Straight Guy's Fashion Test... even I know that those stripes DO NOT go with that lovely solid top!

Horizontal stripes make their butts look big.

If the lawyer wants to help prisoners, how about trying to stop jailhouse violence? Pink shirts? BFD.
Posted by: Somebody | Tuesday, June 01, 2010 at 11:06 AM
I thought everyone in Oklahoma dressed like that.

The shirts need the slogan, "I went to jail and all I got was this lousy pink shirt."
Posted by: Sheila | Tuesday, June 01, 2010 at 01:39 PM
LOL @ Sheila!
I say make them wear hot pink short-shorts too, like that sheriff out west does. In jail, you still have certain rights. Your dignity is not one of them. Want your dignity back? Serve your time and earn your place in society so you never earn the time back in that hell hole.

Maybe they're upset because they're autumns?
Posted by: Dru | Tuesday, June 01, 2010 at 06:14 PM
I say we make them march down Main St., dressed like "Clowns" in TOO loose, over-sized and baggy pants that they need one hand just to hold up......hunh? What's that? You say that's what they was wearin' when they WENT jail?!
Imagine that, its "Fashionable" to dress like a tard.

What! Living in Oklahomo is not humiliating enough?
