Nothing worse than a person who fishes for compliments. This guy should understand that a true compliment comes from authenticity not from this guy trying to conjure up some half-hearted, forced compliment.

Personally I think what he is doing rocks! He isn't handing out half-hearted forced compliments. He tried this once without a sign..just complimenting people he saw in the halls..and he would get dirty looks. The sign just makes people a little more comfortable about the compliments he's giving so they don't think he's some serious weird-o. He's just a nice guy who likes to make people feel good about themselves, or give them a nice boost if they're having a bad day. Since when is giving compliments a sin or a crime? Why should he deserve to get the shit kicked out of him for trying to make people feel good? It sounds like all of you need a good compliment!
