The man pushed the bell-ringer, and pulled the kettle away from her. He put the kettle and tripod in the back of a pickup truck after telling her, "I can't stand you and your bell-ringing. I hate Christmas." A 44-year-old man has been arrested. (Toledo Blade)

At least Ebenezer Scrooge didn't have a stupid mustache.

"The robber was described as a white male in his 40s, between 5 feet, 2 inches and 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighing 200 to 240 pounds. "
Santa?

This guy looks like the kind of loser who'd rip off a charity.
Then again, so does Bernie Madoff.

you have to join the church if you want to get your cut.
btw - some the money you put in the red kettle goes towards anti-alcohol and anti-abortion lobbyists.

LOL@ Lizard!

Guess who went where for what.
RMM @ SANTA'S
Posted by: American Veteran | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:14 PM
I laughed when I read the story. I never thought anyone truly hated Christmas.
Posted by: The Asshole Guy | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:20 PM
Huh... the guy looks like he's from central casting. "Goofy-looking thief! Anybody...?"
Posted by: Mook | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:26 PM
Ah, yes, AV.
Me and my Santa suit...
Posted by: LimeGreenLizard | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:36 PM
Ha!
A lot you guys know.
I wouldn't waste my time on Santa's lap. If he truly knows who's been naughty, why bother?
This story makes me mad. The Salvation Army does good work. I've got an urge to take a kettle and beat this guy like a red-headed stepchild.
Posted by: RockyMtnMac | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:45 PM
@AmVet - What is it that you have against RMM?
And darn you , LGL, you beat me to it.
Posted by: Navy Chief | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:46 PM
Wow. What a douche.

By his reasoning, someone who hates him can take his stuff, too. He stole the truck; I guess he hated the truck's owner.
Posted by: Sheila | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 12:57 PM
I like the way you think, Sheila!
We HATE banks, don't we? And maybe we hate Olive Garden for lunch?
lol

My hero,,,,until I saw the wayward elf photo.
Posted by: thomas | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 01:11 PM
I especially hate the shrimp and chicken carbonara. And a decent pinot grigio.
Posted by: Sheila | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 01:14 PM
It's okay, Chief. AV is just ribbing me a little.
Want to join Sheila and I for lunch at Olive Garden? We are going to hate it, and thus, not pay for it..
Posted by: RockyMtnMac | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 01:35 PM
Salvation Army volunteers accept donations all year round, not only at Christmas, because the needs of the very poor exist all year round. This is not about Christmas but about the homeless and hungry for which these donations were intended. This is where my charitable contribution will go this year. I recommend others do likewise.
Posted by: Charles | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 01:44 PM
Already working on that, Charles, and I agree with you.
Oh, Chief, do join RMM and me. We'd love to have you.
Posted by: Sheila | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 02:34 PM
the salvation army is a church, not a charity
Posted by: buddy | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 02:47 PM
@RMM - Oh, yes! I LOVES .. uh HATES me some Olive Garden!
Posted by: Navy Chief | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 03:20 PM
@Sheila - And you, too, of course.
Posted by: Navy Chief | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 03:22 PM
@chief~~
It's what I'd LIKE to have against her but, that is none of your business, cushmaker.
Posted by: American Veteran | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 04:46 PM
East, AV. Don't appoach that mare from behind. She might make a trophy of your teeth. And your skull.. You'd need a certain type of crop to get anywhere close...
But don't try it around a Salvation Army bucket. Trust me.
Posted by: LimeGreenLizard | Monday, November 30, 2009 at 06:32 PM
I'm not sure, but I think Lizard just called me a horses ass...

I was thinking of inviting him to join us at OG, but....oh, what the heck! Let's invite him, too.

Hater of Christmas but lover to a new cell mate.
Posted by: Me | Tuesday, December 01, 2009 at 05:34 AM
@AmVet - cushmaker? What the heck is THAT?
@RMM - I didn't read it as a horse's ass, just a horse. ;-)
@Sheila - him who? LGL, no problem. AmVet, well...
Posted by: Navy Chief | Tuesday, December 01, 2009 at 06:35 AM
Sheila;
I absolutely abhor Olive Garden almost as much as Red Lobster. May I invite myself?
I clean up well.
Posted by: thomas | Tuesday, December 01, 2009 at 06:44 AM
Thanks, Sheila.
Posted by: LimeGreenLizard | Tuesday, December 01, 2009 at 06:54 AM
Sheila, we've got you, me, AV, LGL, NC, Thomas... all hating lunch at Olive Garden? We need to find another bank to hate on the way there.
Posted by: RockyMtnMac | Tuesday, December 01, 2009 at 08:37 AM
Asshole Guy - Ohhh, dude, lots of people hate Xmas. I confess I am one of them.
Bah-meeping-humbug. On that note, I must also confess that I love charity and people who do good works. I also love getting those blank receipts when I donate goods to the Salvation Army. Thus, I have to agree with everyone here but for different reasons.
Bah!
