The mother, who called 911 on Carmen the cat, says: "I was surprised to see so many police -- like it was for a tiger." (New York Post)

A tennis racket is a good anti-cat defense weapon.

lol @ Sheila.
What an ironic ending for a cat - beat by catgut!
A sack of rocks and a pond would have been more efficent than calling 911. I'm just saying..

@RMM - I'm guessing you don't like cats. That fact didn't come out when you dragged me into the closet the other day. Of course, there wasn't much verbal conversation going on...

@Sheila - Not a cop, methinks, but an animal control officer.

There's a reason why it's called a catastrophe!

I'm guessing she doesn't like most.

You're right, Chief..
Animal Control uniforms have no effect on me, btw.. lol
Actually, I don't 'HATE' cats, I just don't have any tolerance for misbehaving house cats. There are very few uses for a house cat, and this one clearly crossed the line.

Yes, NC, I see what you mean. He's not dressed like a cop. I was just going by the caption and the text of thes tory. RMM: Two cats watching a tennis match, one says to the other, "My dad's in that racket." I know catgut itsn't used now, but still....

Posted by: Sheila | Nov 16, 2009 7:58:58 AM

Okay... cats are small animals. Humans are bigger and occasionally smarter than they are. They should've just wrapped the cat up in a blanket or jacket, put it in a box, and dealt with the cat from there. /sighs.

And yes, I've dealt with OMG CATRAEG in exactly that way before.

If I ever come across this cat, im gonna get my (really amazingly big) gun. Justice!

"NY family is pussy whipped"

I feel really bad for the cat, especially if a medical condition that she didn't cause (and which the family chose not to treat--for economics, allegedly, but that is still their choice) resulted in her wigging out, losing her home, and possibly being put down.

Cats can be scary when they go berserk and start making unearthly noises. (You don't want sweet little kitty to open up an artery or anything.)

The caption to the picture says he's a cop... in any case, he is huge. The cat looks worried that the cop will eat him!

CAT-astrophe? How about cat-ass-trophy?

Umm… Upon review, I think that cop is a woman.

Cats are predators. If they think they can successfully kill something (or someone) they will try. Usually we can have cats around because we are so much bigger. Apparently that isn't always the case.
