Christopher Walls, 41, is accused of disabling vehicles parked in lots at local restaurants and waiting for their owners to return. When a vehicle wouldn't start, he'd offer his services as a mechanic and repair the vehicle. His fee: as much as $200. (Johnson City, Tenn. Press)

What a go-getter! He created a niche, filled and made a profit! Too bad this guy was not ambitious enough to become a Wall Street investor, he has executive timber written all over him!

It's not only America, Phranqlin. From npr, "Former French President Jacques Chirac has been ordered to stand trial in an alleged corruption scandal..."
Attendant to this radio article was the tale of some former high-ranking government officials in Chirac's government who were convicted of illegal arms running. The sentence? 1 year. That's it. For driving savage, illegal, murderous conflicts, primarily in Africa, the sentence is 1 year. That is sickening. That is disgusting. That is morally repugnant. I personally know someone who, with no prior offenses, knowingly defrauded his insurance company of $700. He was sentenced to 16 months in a PA SCI. He should have run guns in France. It is not what you do, but who you know and who you do it to.

You kids are missing out! Up until about the early 1980's, Most gas stations had a garage attached to them. (Instead of a convenience store) Self service was the exception rather than the rule. And full service meant not only was the gas pumped, but fluid levels checks, windows washed, etc. Heaven help you if you happened to need a fill-up out of state!
A surreptitious squirt of oil beneath the engine or an awl to a water hose, and a moment later you'll be informed by your helpful attendant that you have a bad leak, that should be taken care of right away!
