THIS TAKES THE COPS AND COURT TO A NEW LEVEL OF IDIOTIC WASTE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY. THIS IS TOTALLY STUPID.

Stupid indeed, except for the fact that milk, even mother's milk, with alcohol in it is bad news for a newborn.

What was she supposed to do instead? Let her hungry baby scream and scream? Drive drunk to the grocery store to pick up a can of formula?

Wow - couldnt disagree more with any of you. Read the article. It wasn't just the fact she was breastfeeding, "She was intoxicated to the point of not being able to care for the child". I would not want a slurring staggering person hold onto my child. How about you twerp?

MOM we use a lot of sarcasm on here...it's like when you say something outlandish and ridiculous to kind of satirize some example of outlandish behavior. That's my definition, but a visit to Merriam-Webster shows that it's not too far off:
1 : a sharp and often satirical or ironic utterance designed to cut or give pain
2 a : a mode of satirical wit depending for its effect on bitter, caustic, and often ironic language that is usually directed against an individual b : the use or language of sarcasm

wtf you can do it yourself here: http://www.merriam-webster.com/
Clever SN btw. By the time you are older than 17 and lose some of that snark, you will have seen the "wtf" moniker enough that it no longer seems very clever at all and you'll actually feel pretty embarrassed. But not everyone grows out of it, wtf =( lol

Wow, those stupid cops! They charged her for neglect?!? This was clearly a case of endangerment.
Neglect could have been changed if she had not fed the child because she was drunk. However, she chose to be drunk AND pass it on to the child.
Also, she did not ensure her child was being cared for by sober people (parents who leave their child in the care of someone as drunk as the mother can be charged with neglect).

The state and/or local statutes may not include the term "endangerment." Legislators don't always write laws very well.

It was market research!! Breastmilk products is a growing industry. Enhanced-breastmilk is just a natural evolution in this $3 industry. Someone had to test it out. A baby is a logical choice.

Yes, Lambie, but hopefully he won't want to steralize both of them.
Kee, hee-hee. That's true, if they can't talk or remember, then they'd make good guinea pigs.

the only thing I have to ask is who is going to take care of the baby if she goes to prison?

Every kid wishes their mom would party and let them join in.... Cops are never there when you need and always there when you don't....
