Man checks bank account, discovers he's $23 quadrillion in debt

"I thought my card had been compromised. I thought somebody had bought Europe with my credit card," says Josh Muszynski. "It was very concerning." His bank eventually corrected the error, of course. (WMUR News)

Gee, just think of the number of Wolrd Points he will have when that card is paid off

The author of that article wrote that '$23 quadrillions rivals our federal debt'.

Well, no it doesn't unless our federal budget is $23,148 trillion. In terms of rivals, that's like Shaq vs the Knight from Nee in a dunking contest.

The Knight from Nee might win in a bravery contest.

Perhaps the last 2 Administrations of the US Gov. had guessed his bank password?

Posted by: sometimesilie | Jul 15, 2009 6:43:51 AM

LOL - or is it spend and spend.

Posted by: Sigh | Jul 15, 2009 7:02:42 AM

@SIL - Too funny!

Being that it's the b of a(holes), I bet they didn't delete the overdraft charge.

$23 quadrillion overdrawn....plus a $15 overdraft fee - hilarious!

SIL:
Took your advice yesterday. Bought a twelve pack of rotgut, but don't have the cash to get out of town.
Sat in my tiny backyard with the sprinkler on me and imagined coastal Maine in summer. Close enough.
I'm spent out. Sigh.

It would be soo cool if somebody had actually stolen that much money.

I could kick a lot of ass with $23,148,855,308,184,500. I'd buy Canada, create an army and take over the United States. All knees will bow to dictator twerp! Bwah hahahahah!

Yeah.

I'm feelin' really good about my debt level right now. I wonder if the Ohio court would allow him to file bankruptcy, or not...lol?

These stories stopped being humorous in 1987.

Posted by: MidtownCoog | Jul 15, 2009 7:29:42 AM

LOL @ twerp...you could save time and just buy the US and not have the expense of a take over.

Posted by: jojo | Jul 15, 2009 7:38:00 AM

BLAME IT ON THE FEDERAL RESERVE AND THE IRS

Posted by: MONKEY JERKm | Jul 15, 2009 7:43:00 AM

thats enough money to feed twerp for a week and 5 days!

Posted by: buddy | Jul 15, 2009 7:50:48 AM

Consumerist had a similar story yesterday with the same $23 quadrillion overcharge. Looks like some sort of Visa system glitch.

Posted by: The Tim | Jul 15, 2009 8:03:31 AM

...or maybe even buy buddy a more endearing personality! ....nah...still not enough...

Posted by: USMerc | Jul 15, 2009 8:26:50 AM

merc, you know im priceless.

Posted by: buddy | Jul 15, 2009 8:30:45 AM

LOL Yeah, I reckon we do need you around here to keep us modest!

Posted by: USMerc | Jul 15, 2009 8:32:00 AM

So... you reckon some big corporation was attempting to up its "profit" for end of fiscal year reports? I could see, say a big corporation somehow withdrawing 4Q's from some poor soul's account for a day, and in that day woo shareholders and/or potential buyers, and then put the money back the next day.

After all, the bank blames Visa. And Visa blames the bank.

I bet it was one of them... :-)

jojo, it'll take too many lawyers to go around the red tape to take over the US through purchase. A hostile takeover would be much less expensive and a lot more thorough.

Merc, who's buddy? I know not of whom you speak.

Posted by: twerp | Jul 15, 2009 8:50:23 AM

Did he get any purchase points for the rather large purchase? Maybe he can buy Iran using his points and replace the dicktator (I know I spelled it that way on purpose..)
