Go ahead and shoot if you ever see me wearing a Snuggie
A Snuggie pub crawl? Oh, please! One of the organizers says: "We kept moving the date back because people were not going to get their Snuggies in time [because the demand for them emptied store shelves]." (San Francisco Chronicle)

Typical pc bullshit.
I DO agree that schools shouldn't name their teams after indians as, if you've ever been to LDF, you'd know that "Flambeau Pop" is Pabst Blue Ribbon.
Who wants to be represented by a bunch of drunk indians?

I guess they should take, "My fellow Americans" out of political speeches as well.

I wouldn't call this PC, more like BS.

In this environment, I'm kind of surprised the "fight" part survived - something about violence towards other people. "Compromise, men and women! Compromise! Compromise! Compromise!" Just doesn't get the blood going, does it? Perhaps if I had used "Negotiate" instead.

LOL! Yeah Drake...
*Cheering*
"Go Team GO!
Compromise Unisex Team, Compromise!
Give Your Best Effort!
We're Not Even Keeping Score!"
Just doesn't have the same feel, somehow......

POLITICALLY CORRECT IS A CROCK.

Did you read some of the comments on the site? I love the comment about the line "Cheer the Black, Cheer the Gold." Someone didn't read the entire line and was accusing the PC student of racism!

RMM - part of me laughs, part of me cries.

Wow, The AP really butchered that story, didn't they!
Kids at the school rewrote the fight song becasue it was football-centric, and now it's not. A nice article for teh school paper, and maybe the local paper .... and a "PC Gone Wild" story for the AP.

Smite them, Brethren, Smite them!

Um, isn't this line also part of On Wisconsin, the fight song for the University of Wisconsin? And also the state song? Has this now been declared politically incorrect, too?

And I remember back in high school in the mid 80's during Friday night football games the cheerleaders would break out into cheers such as..
U G L Y you ain't got no alibi, you ugly, you ugly...
It has other versus but this would get the entire stands shouting this at the visting team. We also had some other rude songs that we would sing and the staff never said one thing about it.
I never knew that the word fellow could or would ever be considered sexist in my entire life. The dumb is strong with this school.

to continue with TAG's cheer:
M-A, M-A, we know how you got that way!
Yo' mama! Yo' mama!
Here's another harsh one:
We got you where we want you,
And you're out in the woods!
Your coach is a farmer,
And your team is no good!

Whenever I think of chants/cheers I remember the two really fun ones the last two years in the NCAA tourney. Morehead State's "More Head" and Austin Peay's "Let's Go Peay". For those who don't know how it's pronounced, Peay is pronounced as if it doesn't have the Y at the end.

IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!

I first heard that "UGLY" cheer at the annual football game between the Univ of Florida (Gators) and the Univ. of Georgia (Bulldogs). The UF cheerleaders chanted it to taunt the UGA fans. That was in 1977.
"... you ain't got no alibi you're ugly, Georgia, you're ugly."
The Gators won the game.

ARTIST: Tom Lehrer
TITLE: Fight Fiercely, Harvard!
Fight fiercely, Harvard, fight, fight, fight
Demonstrate to them our skill
Albeit they possess the might
Nonetheless we have the will
How we shall celebrate our victory
We shall invite the whole team up for tea, how jolly
Hurl that spheroid down the field
And fight, fight, fight
Fight fiercely, Harvard, Fight, fight, fight
Impress them with our prowess, do
Oh, fellows, do not let the Crimson down
Be of stout heart and true
Come on, chaps, fight for Harvard's glorious name
Won't it be peachy if we win the game, oh, goody
Let's try not to injure them
But fight, fight, fight - Let's not be rough, though
Fight, fight, fight - And do fight fiercely
Fight, fight, fight
