She had told her husband about the correspondence with a guy she dated 32 years ago and "he appeared OK" with it. Later, though, he called her 18 times at work, and told her to "tell everyone at work goodbye," which she took as a death threat. (Kitsap Sun)

Little Insecurity there.

FTA: "...he was booked on suspicion of telephone harassment."
That's hilarious. How is there even a law for that!? And it's a felony too!?
People get in their 4000-lb cars, drive like an a$$hat, get in an accident, someone dies, and they get a misdemeanor traffic citation.
Isn't our justice system great? lol
Posted by: thetruth | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 05:55 AM
Truth - It's a felony because he was calling her threatening her life. If someone is known to be driving recklessly and kills someone they would probably be charged at least with vehicular manslaughter and possibly more (ie. manslaughter). Of course it's one thing to charge someone with a crime, but it's another to prove it in a courtroom. If they can't prove the person was making death threats, driving like a maniac, etc. then they don't get convicted.
Is the justice system perfect? No. Any system that involves imperfect evidence and humans with prejudices can't be perfect, but I'd say it's pretty damn good.

I have looked up my exes on the web just to make sure they are still far away.
This guy sounds like a real winner. Beats her March 7th, 0.25 alcohol limit, drunken calls at work. Impressive.
It still doesn't beat the last couple Florida stories though.

What G-Man said, plus this: just because threats are issued via telephone doesn't mean they are necessarily less serious than threats delivered by any other means. Caller ID helps, and the threatened person can probably block one or more numbers, but those tactics won't stop a determined moron.

first they're blaming myspace for teenagers acting stupid, now they're going to start blaming facebook for spouses acting stupid.
Gimme a break!

DEFINITELY A JERK FOR SURE

Again, FTA: "Her told her to 'tell everyone at work goodbye,' which she took as a death threat."
Sssssooooo, a "perceived" death threat is good enough!? Also, unless the calls were recorded, how do they know what was said? How do they even know how many calls he made? Some (vindictive) woman's "word" is good enough!? This is TOTAL BS...

Truth - Articles don't usually tell the whole story. Sometimes they don't even tell it right at all.

Woops. Sorry bout that.
Posted by: G-Man | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 09:10 AM
If you'd read the article closely, he is also accused of assaulting his wife, not just harassing her on the phone.
Oh, and the woman is automatically vindictive because she reported harassment? I guess the assault was her fault, too, huh?

there has to be more than just recent issues here. his insecurities and the marriage problems....
a lot of missing pieces in this nice little puzzle.

I am on the husband's,he's no dummy. This women is a slut and has no idea what devotion and love is. HUSBAND HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BE HURT AND ANGRY. This proves she does not have the kind of love a wife should have for a husband.Husband should think about getting rid of her. NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
Posted by: chad | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10:38 AM
My husband gets semi-jealous when I'm on facebook. I think it's so HOT! If he ever threatened me though, he'd be so out of my life.
Posted by: twerp | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10:44 AM
Chad, are you f-ing kidding me? I am engaged to be married. I have many guys I attended HS with that are a "friend" on facebook and one that I dated. That was over 20 yrs ago. I dont see these people face to face, I dont have interest in them sexually. Insecurity and Jealousy are ugly emotions that show a lack of self esteem and immaturity. This guy is a douche bag. Even if his wife was having "added communication" with some HS lover...he should divorce her if he thinks she's unfaithful not threaten her.
Posted by: cherie | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10:54 AM
Cherie--It went beyond threats--He smacked her around! What a putz...If he is that sure his wife is cheating, my bet is that HE is!!!!
Posted by: USMerc | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:09 AM
Again, directly FTA: "He was then taken to the jail and booked on suspicion of telephone harassment and fourth-degree assault. His bail was set at $40,000."
NOTE the word "suspicion" for both the phone charge AND the assault charge....so in reality, they have NO evidence, just a woman's word, and we all know that women never make things up to "get back" at a guy, right!?
Posted by: thetruth | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 11:59 AM
USMerc - you sure got that right! Cheaters are always the first to assume that their partner is cheating too.

She's lying. She probably gave him the clap, like Rhianna gave to Chris Brown.

Hey, truth....Any time you are arrested and booked, it is for "suspicion of..." You are not "convicted of..." until you go to trial.
Posted by: USMerc | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 12:32 PM
Hey USMerc; not true. Actually, you are normally arrested for: assault, attempted murder, robbery, burglary, etc., NOT "suspicion" of those crimes. Scott Peterson was under "suspicion" for MONTHS in Laci's murder, but of course he wasn't arrested until the bodies washed up on shore, and then he was booked on murder charges.
Posted by: thetruth | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 12:51 PM
Thats pretty strange, since everyone I've ever booked I've booked in as a "suspect"...Therefore, it is for "suspicion of"....
Posted by: USMerc | Monday, March 16, 2009 at 12:55 PM
sucks to be him...

I think Truth is on to something. My ex would literally hit herself to make it appear like I was beating her up. I never once laid a hand on her. She even went so far as to stab herself in the leg with a knife (which the hospital was able to tell was self inflicted). The damn cops will take a womans word over a guys any day without even looking at all the facts. The truth in my case finally came out when she called in saying I was beating her up, WHILE I was still sitting in jail from the previous charge. Yeah I broke out to slap her around and then broke back in. LOL
