Three young women (left) orchestrated an elaborate revenge plot against a former friend, driving her to a woods and abandoning her in near-zero temperatures wearing only a dress, a light jacket and a single shoe. Why? The shivering victim had sued the insurance company of one of the plotters after a car accident.
(Bergen Record)
" face kidnapping, assault and conspiracy charges for allegedly hatching the plot."
Can someone please put me in charge of the judicial system? I just don't get it. They threw her out in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold. She could have easily died. Why are they not being charged with attempted murder, which should carry exactly the same penalties as murder since it just means that the person was too dumb/incompetent to do the murder correctly.

Hey, we've got three more girlfriends for that guy who wants to do sacrifices!

Good ol' New Jersey. Way to live up to the stereotypes.
Also, seconding the recommendation for attempted murder charges.

I third the attempted murder charges. All in favor, say "Aye."

Aye. I am glad that they weren't given the 10% deal on the bail though.

Wow. Some people are really, really in favor of tort reform. And, I'll 'aye' the murder charge.

That's not the only negative stereotype these girls are reenforcing. Look at their pictures. They look like some TLC-rip-off group. Pouty lips. Bad-ass looks in their eyes. "We be sassy! We don't take no crap off nobody! Some b**** mess with us, she going get it!" What would they do if somebody actually did something really bad to them, not just file suit against their insurance company! And that's another thing: they got upset because the girl is filing suit against an insurance company? How touchy can you get? God forbid you express displeasure with their attitudes or fashion choices.
Posted by: wank | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 11:19 AM
Am I the only one amazed these girls even had insurance?
Posted by: MidtownCoog | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 11:23 AM
Whoops; don't mean to be offensive. I just thought it would be a fun pun. The bakery sells both "torts" and "tarts," and I have to concentrate not to mix the two up.
That being said, I think word choice should be the least of their concern for these alleged attempted-murderesses.
Posted by: outofsalt | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 11:24 AM
If I was overlord I would have them placed into nail filled barrels and rolled down a hill, just like in the Fairy Tales. That'd take the smirks of those dog-mugs I'd wager!

aye

With friends like that, who needs enemies?
I think these ladies are crying out for dates with the volcano goddess. Wonder how much three plane fares to Mt. Kilauea are these days?

aye! i hope this girl has some better friend waiting on her when she gets home.
and what is with the woman that refused to take her to the police or hospital. if you want to be annymous, be so, but god's nightgown, help someone that is freezing to death...

I don't understand why everyone gets upset when a friend who is injured in a car accident sues an insurance company. That's what insurance is for!
When I was 15, I was in a car accident and I sued my (at the time) boyfriend's insurance. He didn't pay a dime toward the $30,000 total settlement (I only got $14,000 after lawyer and medical fees) and his insurance would have gone up anyway. Note: I'm in favor of not giving kids that kind of money; they should withhold it until the kid turns 21.
With that said, ... Aye!

There are four m*fs here that will be up against the wall when the revolution comes. The woman who 'didn't want to get involved' will be included.
Posted by: jakejake | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 12:09 PM
DOES NOT EVERYONE WANT A GROUP OF FRIENDS LIKE THAT? I DO NOT THINK SO!!!
Posted by: MONKEY JERK | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 12:10 PM
I have a question. If that hosebag woman who didn't want to get involved let her use her cell phone, who did she call? Was it 911? It sounds like she had to sit around until another car came.
Oh, and aye.

I believe in the Hammurabi code what they did to this poor girl should be done to them and if they survive then take them through the court system. Guaranteed we wouldn't have so many people doing shit like this. And our prisons wouldn't be so full. Just my opinion. Also if they made to the court system they should be tried for attempted murder.

WOW! My daughter was injured in a car accident when she was 15. The male driver was 16 and thought it would be cute to pretend he was going to hit a squirrel on the side of the road, he swerved...overcorrected and flipped his car into a ditch with 4 kids inside. Fortunately she only suffered some bruising and a broken collarbone....we had to go to court with his insurance company to get money for her medical bills etc. She got about 20K...most of which went to the medical bills.
The kids parents would give me the evil eye when I ran into them in public like I'd try to sue them for their home or something. He has had 4 more accidents in the 4 yrs since that accident. I still cannot figure out why he hasn't lost his license. Glad he didn't kidnap my kid and leave her to freeze to death!
A side note to this. Her original medical bills when they came to the house were in excess of 50K...our health insurance company was able to "negotiate" the bills to under 20K. Gotta love our healthcare/insurance industry!

The Bitches of Eastwick. Aye.
Posted by: NitroPress | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 06:58 PM
I know of a case where a man was driving a car with his elementary school kid and caused an accident. He and hos wife had to arrange for a lawyer to file a suit on behlad of the kid against himself so he could turn the suit over to his own insurance company.
Posted by: Bill | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 06:59 PM
Aye!! on attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Look up cell phone records for the area and arrest the woman who wouldn't help on "reckless endangerment" or what ever else fits.
Posted by: David | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 07:13 PM
semsc;
Unfortunately, being outside in the cold can make your thinking befuddled - she probably tried calling her "friends".
Posted by: | Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 07:14 PM
AYE!!!
and the person who let her use the cell must be a frightened "rabbit" to be afraid of getting involved in the girls dispute,, that lady probably knew one or more of the "friends" to not be willing to help a teenager on the road in her situation.

PS- if you clean these 3 girls up a bit they could make decent prostitutes.
