Street closed after 200 gallons of chicken wing sauce are spilled
Four large barrels of the sauce tipped and spilled while they were being delivered to a restaurant. The Haz-mat squad was called.

In Buffalo you can order your wings "Suicidal"... maybe that's why they had to call in the haz-mat team for this place... although I would have to think twice about ordering any sauce that required a haz-mat team to clean up in the first place... maybe the sauce contained peanut products from Georgia?

Just need a chicken wing truck and a butane truck to lose control and collide in the sauce...

Why do you even post this story Jim? You KNOW it is Superbowl week and there is already a wing shortage! And now THIS?? (*openly weeping*)
WHY?!?!..

I love you guys. My friends will wonder why I burst into laughter every time I grab a wing this Sunday.

You are a delivery guy. You are using a 2 wheeled hand truck to move the drums. How do you F-up and spill 4 drums? I can see dropping one but dropping 4.

no need for haz mat. just some wings, drummettes, kegs of beer and a big screen tv & then it is super bowl tail gate party of the year.
Posted by: lynn | Friday, January 30, 2009 at 08:11 AM
Here in Buffalo this would be cause for a party. It would probably become a yearly thing. Every friday before the Superbowl we would pour 200 gallons of sauce on the street, grill the wings and drink lots of beer. Maybe sauce wrestling, or barely dressed clean up competitions. A radio station would sponser it and some proceeds would go to charity. Thousands would show up. Within 5 years or so it would take on religious connotations with a special wing sauce mass set up for the blessing of the sauce.
The sauce would probably melt the snow too.
Ahhh, does Buffalo loves a party!

MC - That's my Buffalo Wing version of the old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercials.
Don't you know never to ask a guy his age :-). Let's just say I'm a Gen X'er.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
Posted by: twerp | Friday, January 30, 2009 at 08:22 AM
I'm not so sure about the sauce wrestling -- I know with crabs in the Chesapeake Bay area, we have to warn people to wash their hands _before_ using the bathroom. I'm just thinking that hot sauce could get into places that'd make for some very unhappy wrestlers.

Forget the Haz-Mat team -- they should have dumped a couple of 55-gallon drums of Pepto-Bismol to neutralize the sauce.

...To get to the sauce on the other side???
Posted by: USMerc | Friday, January 30, 2009 at 08:59 AM
As the truck driver was pushing a barrel toward the open truck door, it tipped over and spilled into the street, right in front of the restaurant.
How did this turn into 4 barrels? And I love the car being awash with sauce...yummy

The chicken did not just cross the road....
He was RUNNING from the finger-licking, sauce droppings before the grills fired up!

I recently watched an episode of "Man vs Food" and his challenge was to eat the hottest curry in NY, "phan curry"--so hot they use 10 different peppers to make it. The cook wore a gas mask when making it but more from the smoke than the burn of the peppers. The show's host asked the chef, "what was the worse reaction someone has had to the curry sauce?" The guy replied, "Someones nose bled while eating it." Now THATS hot lol..
I was wondering if it ate the paint off the car it spilled onto?? lmao.
I once read a report about hot sauce being addictive. The report said they gave rats unlimited access to hot sauce and the rats ate until they went into respiratory arrest and died! How about those sewer rats? PETA will charge them with rat murder LOL.
NOW Im hungry :)

RMM,
It's because of the wingnuts who come here sometimes.

Great...more problems with Chicken Wings to add to the Chicken Wing Shortage!
There is an evil plot going on .... I think the chickens are starting to work together. They're behind this somehow.

Oh, god, Archie's sauce spill! We live right near the home base of Archie Moore's in New Haven. The 18-wheeler full of wings is already in place for Sunday. The only way this could be a worse tragedy would be if it happened here at the flagship store.

Did the guy drop one barrel after another? Says he started out dropping just one... "That's the fourth one! Darn I'm clumsy!"
