What the...?!: Intruder puts homeowner's dog in the oven
A female resident returned home at 3:15 a.m. Sunday and found smoke filling the house’s kitchen. At first, she thought it was a furnace malfunction but checked the oven and found the household pet dead. (Green Bay Press-Gazette)November 25, 2008 | Permalink

It doesn't say that anything was stolen - so I can't imagine it's actually a burglary. I would say check current and ex significant others to see if any of them are psychopaths.

I have 3 dogs, two of which would fit in the oven. I couldn't even read the story. How that poor little animal must've suffered. How incredibly sad. I think I'm going to go hug my dogs.......

Maybe the critter jumped in on its own. Could have been suicide.

Howie,
Does KC know you're posting limmericks?
Posted by: A.V. | Nov 25, 2008 10:30:25 AM
Actually, A.V., Howie's posting song lyrics. Limericks have five lines; Howie's stanza only had four.

How about haiku?
I hate dog burners,
Unless they roast poodles.
Then, I say, "Thank you."

The second line has only 6 syllables (sp?).

You know...its weird that I can make a joke about a dead guy in a closet but I can't find anything funny about a dead dog in an oven. Probably because the guy had a choice in his death and the poor dog didnt.
Getting stuck in an oven you cannot get out of and being roasted alive would be worse than a gas chamber.
Oh the humanity.....

What if were a big dog, like a Doberman or a St. Bernard? Extra work for the psycho stuffin' it in the oven...

This is so effing sick I can't begin to express it. Nuf sed.

SES: You are correct. I suck at haiku. I guess I could go with "Unless they're roasting poodles."
I've got a neighbor with one of those enormous "ghetto ponies" that he occasionally lets into his back yard for a couple of hours so that it can bark at each individual air molecule. I'd really feel pretty good about things if someone would stuff that into an oven.
