Homeowner wonders how snakes fell out of her faucet

She insists they did, but utility officials say no. "It's impossible for snakes to come out of a faucet. It's deliberately a completely enclosed system from end to end," says one. (Palm Beach Post)

I couldn't read the article--Samuel L Jackson was already in my head shouting, "There's some m-f'ing snakes in my m-f'ing drain!"

Snakes ... why did it have to be snakes?

"Elena Trowell, a 22-year-old brunette "

The hair on her head is blonde. I can't vouch for the rest of her hair, though I'd like to find out.

Too many pictures of snakes, not enough of her.

I believe her. Absolutely.

Crikey faucet snakes are the worst!

I was living in Atchison Kansas in 1993 during the big flood, and had black snake about 3 foot long come up the toilet right after using it. He was one p*ssed off snake too!!

Thank god we were living on the upside of a hill and the rats couldn't get in! I had buddies that had rats climbing out of their toilets closer to the river.

why didn't a strainer catch it? Aren't there strainers on most faucets?

WTF does her hair color have to do with the story???? This is the second story today that mentions (irrelevantly) the color of the subject's hair. Weird...

Thank God I take showers--I think I might've just croaked right there; I HATE snakes!!

Posted by: oldewave | Sep 16, 2008 11:38:11 AM

I'd like to know just how impossible this is please.

Posted by: Reno | Sep 16, 2008 11:39:47 AM

Yeah, but oldwave, what if it died and started to rot in your shower plumbing?

OK, I know it's gross but hey it's worth a thought.....

Dont even get me started. I absolutely believe this woman. I've read stories of snakes coming up through the toilet in plumbing and the ancient house I currently live in had MASSIVE plumbing issues when we moved in. Due to a crack in the outdoor tile we were getting slugs in the pipes and they would come in via the tub...I'd go to take a shower and find slugs in the tub. GROSS! If we can get slugs, I'm sure a small snake could get in the same way.

The faucets when opened have a hole smaller than a dime that's the old old ones.
New washerless ones have a hole smaller than a pencil.
A 3ft snake I doubt it.
From the drain yes it's 1 1/2 in. ID.

thanks, twerp, for putting THAT thought in my head... maybe i'll just hide in bed. no, there might be snakes there too!! now my toes are curling, thinking there may be some under my desk...

If Jesus could turn water into wine, he could probably turn it into snakes too.

I'm on the same page as trustno1 on this one. It's EASY for critters to come through the drain pipes (tubs, toilets, etc.), but the faucets.....more difficult to believe.....

There are MANY straining mechanisms in play when water is delivered to customers.....

I'm not saying this woman is lying....it may have fallen out of the faucet but it's just difficult to believe--maybe it crawled in through the drainpipe and then started up the faucet and when the woman turned the water on, out plopped Mr. Snake.

Personally, I'd like a visit from Mr. Snake.....Ms. Kitty is getting lonely.
