Boo-hoo!: "No one clapped for me at my high school graduation"

So Robert Soloway got back at the world by becoming a prolific spammer. "I was miserable going to school. I never went to football games or high school dances. I was overweight. And I would rush home and sit down on my computer and talk to people," he says. "That was the only place I received validation. Not that that excuses my activities." He's been charged with 40 criminal counts. (Seattle Post-Intelligencer)

Strange...at my graduation everybody clapped out of politeness, just some people got clapped for harder than others. You have to be an active jerk for everyone to sit silent.

I went to a big high school. After the first 100 or so graduates, people stopped clapping out of politeness. I can see it happening...at least he wasn't actively boo'ed, was he?

What's an "applause butt"? Is it a butt that people admire enough to applaud?

This guy is a walking, talking argument for bringing back the stocks and pillory.

Can someone please enlighten me as to how one makes $700K to $800K a year by spamming? And what the hell did he do to his "victims" that made them plead for him to stop?

Posted by: Glow | Aug 5, 2008 11:16:24 AM

An "applause butt" is one of those butts from the Washlet ad. Man, those were sa-weet!

Posted by: Soo | Aug 5, 2008 11:19:05 AM

I'm with you Glow....I mean, sure it's kinda gross and comes in a funny shaped can, but the stuffs been around for years. I hear it's not bad fried but have never tried it. Sometimes it has a little jelly on the corners so it fits in the can right, it's kinda gross and if it gets stuck to your finger...what?......oh....nevermind.

Such delightful news.

Though it does seem a pity he was never taught the golden rule of revenge.

The Best Revenge Is Living Well

(with the caveat...and not getting thrown in the pokey for it)
