Tragic: Band's bass player dies on the day their album debuts

Apparently it's not a publicity stunt for the band Tickle Me Pink. Why the 22-year-old musician died remains unknown. (Rocky Mountain News)

My daughter usually goes to the Warped Tour. I dont remember hearing about these guys thou. Its very sad when someone young dies. It didn't sound like drugs where involved.

I'm not sure an "outpouring" of 100 people or selling 79 cds is going to break any records though.

Nothing like a dead band member to get your CDs to fly off the shelves....

It's sad, but it's a pretty safe bet that drugs were involved, probably coke and obviously too much of it....

I'm kind of surprised that Jim isn't yet covering the deaths of 600 Starbucks.

While we don't know what caused this person's death, there is nothing ironic about this. I knew people in bands and when they first got signed to big record contracts they all went a little nuts, drinking, celebrating and buying equipment or a car. One group of friends got a big $50k advance on their record and went out and bought a $25k tour van that very first day before realizing that after taxes they'd each get about $3000 max from what was left over and no one could quit delivering pizza any time soon.

Wow, that sucks for them. Perhaps it was suicide, after having attained his goals?

Is now a good time to mention that I play bass?

I kid you not,I had listened to an advance of this band's CD on Sunday when I was weeding through a stack of promotional CDs, and had pulled the press release aside to remind me to write to their publicist to let him know that the band was "Not my thing" (too Emo for my taste). Now I think I'll just let that go unsaid. Very unfortunate.

600 Starbucks? That sounds like a good band name

Why are we suppose to care about this?

While this is the sad story of the day - next to to whacko who extracted the baby from the mother's womb - the autopsy on this young "hopeful" shall reveal drugs & alcohol overdose. Do not think that I am heartless, but this 'talent' was wasted - in more ways than one.
I truly feel compassion for his family, but this is a trajedy that someone knew about....
