Mom shoots 8-year-old daughter in the leg to win $1 bet

There was drinking involved, of course. "When people are not in the state of mind to think right, you get strange things happening," notes the district attorney. (Sheboygan Press)

When will someone finance a program to pay people to get sterilized. How many crackheads and trailer trash would line up at their particular age of consent, if there was a thousand dollars in it for them? Gates? Buffet? Anybody?

condoms, people. Condoms...

Some people should not be allowed to reproduce.

Good Lord!!! Farmer Bob...where you at on this one...
Can Chlorox produce enough chlorine to disinfect that gene pool???

rich... you're a genius. The absolute ONLY downside I can think of for voluntary paid vasectomies would be a dramatic decrease in stories here at OSRR.

I would usually say that it's only a BB gun, and they're probably making a big deal out of nothing, as many of my friends have played "tag" with BB rifles.

But when the kid is only 8, and it was probably point blank range, damn. No such defense here. Also, ONE dollar? Reminds me of Trading Spaces.

This is why god so dislikes trailer parks, in fact at least once a year he will send a tornado through just to thin the herd a bit.

What a stingy bastard. I wouldn't shoot either of my kids for less than five dollars.

Don't forget she got 2 for the price of 1 bb and $1.00. An 8 year old and a 7 year old!

A long-dormant volcano in Chile is awake. And waiting.

Rich, never mind $1000, at least from this story. Put a bottle of booze on the line, and you'll probably get at least half the folks who'd line up for a grand. We could probably fund the effort as a group project as OS&RR readers and lurkers, and Farmer Bob could emcee.

Not life threatning but -you could put an eye out with it.
Seriously what kind of parent breaks the trust level with their kids like that? She's going to create a person with really low levels of trust and self worth which of course sustains the whole traler trash cycle of life.

What's wrong with this guy? The mother wins the bet, and the boyfriend doesn't even have the decency to pay up. Instead, he takes the gun and flees.

Posted by: Grey | May 4, 2008 6:42:26 PM

Mom is an alchy who maybe deserves to go to prison but, definetly needs to rethink her choices of drinking games.

The boyfriend is a welcher who should sterilized before he can make a donation to the mom's sperm receptacle.

The kids are likely to become wards of the state where they will live a miserable life of wnadering from foster home to foster home in an ever failing experiment by the child protective services to figure out their mission statement.

However, the good news is I just saved a bunch of money by not filling up m car this week.

Sterilization is necessary is this case.

I am SHOCKED this type of incident could happen in Wisconsin. The state has such a commanding lead in the Idiot State of the Year Award that we might as well just give them the trophy now.

Although I say that the mom should be strung up and shot with a bb gun, every half hour on the dot for the next two weeks, I really hate the way article's header makes it sound like this was done with a 9mm or a 45.

I'm here on this site just to read you guys' comments, and very rarely read the articles, but this was one I clicked on the article before even reading the comments, so it was an anti-climax to read that it was a BB gun.

-smh- what a useless dipshit
i agree farmer bob

There's so much crazy here that it's hard to know where to start. So here's a question. How common is it to have a BB gun? I know that kids had them when I was younger. But I lived in a city. They had to set up cans until they got bored. But I thought that toy guns had become a lot less common. I know I had a hard time looking for one maybe 10 years ago for a Halloween costume. If you're not a kid, what's the point of a BB gun?

Posted by: Displaced | May 5, 2008 5:13:35 AM

I've got $5 to pitch in if this worthless piece of s**t and her boyfriend would shoot themselves in the head and make the abuse of these kids this stop! It's obviously too late for sterilization. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

Posted by: jojo | May 5, 2008 5:21:05 AM

Displaced: apparently, it's more common than any of us thought. For instance, the kids of the tenant I recently evicted used the metal storage sheds I kindly supplied for target practice. The house is in the 'burbs.

Beat that woman over the head with a bionic leg.

Posted by: twerp | May 5, 2008 6:32:07 AM

I think that is "Trading Places", the one with Eddie Murphy. Although, this might spice up the Trading Spaces show -- swap houses with your neighbors to shoot their kids with bb guns to get them to repaint their family room.

All I can say is, "she had 10 to 12 beers!?" Well golly-dang!
