""I will strive to make sure a thing like this never happens again," he says after a TV crew filmed him in the act.¨¨

I read ´´after´´ as ´´as´´...I thought he was saying it ·while· he was sipping the sauce because that would have just been classic and hilarious.

72 ounces is a sixer, did they go bottle by bottle and subtract the backwash? Because that´s mighty charitable of them if they did.

I also love how he doesn´t promise not to do it again in his statement, only promises to strive...strive...I will strive to stop at 40 ounces next time. 40 onces is usually when I start to feel pretty buzzed and happy. Stress levels plummet...

"I will strive to make sure a thing like this never happens again"

I think that's what Jeffrey Dahmer used to say every time after he ate one of his victims.

PROBABLY JUST A KIDNEY PROBLEM.

Yeah, and while you're striving to make sure it doesn't happen again take a walk to the unemployment office, friggin loser.

I think he means he will strive to make sure he isn't caught again.

I knew I shouldn't have even read this story....makes my blood boil....string this POS up by his shoes.....friggin republican......have Krusty the Clown run against him in November then shame him into leaving town and his profession for good.

Sounds like Sean's ideal public official.

couldn´t read the story before as it was slow to load...my ´perception´of this guy is what a schmuck, boy-howdy.

Reminded me a lot of one of the Judiciaries in Kafka´s Trial. Abysmal behavior. And the guys so slippery he only kind of fake apologizes, for ¨being put into (as if it was some sort of higher power) a situation that may lead to even the perception of wrongdoing.¨Quintessential Politico Double-Speak. Surprised he didn´t just start quacking like a drunk duck.

But Wait! Shouldn't we be more understanding and tolerant of this man? After all, he's not doing drugs AND he has contributed to society!

I still want to whack tater in the balls.

No offense, tater :o)

Better make it illegal again, this drug abuse is getting out of hand.

If this man has any honor, he will resign his office and seclude himself from the community. Drunks are just was worthless as potheads and other druggies. Hopefully, the sheriff or some other law enforcement agency can find a charge to levy against this loser.

Shoulda rolled a fat one , I hear its alot easier to find sympathetic jurors if your charged and prosecuted.

I agree with Richard Spud (DT). We hear of Blue Collar employees of the state, county etc. getting fired for this all the time. The attorney should get a more harsh sentence, after all he is prosecuting people for the same thing. It's his profession.

This happened to the chief of police in a city an hour South of here, and he resigned the week the story broke. He was taped drinking on a golf course, then at the club house, then driving away in a city vehicle. He was golfing with my brother-in-law. When the footage aired on the 6:00 PM news, and there was my b-i-l, we were all so proud...

16 ounces of beer is your safe level of beer for work hours. You can pull off 32 in a pinch.

If the work is condoning the drinking then go all out.
