Teen faces charges after pulling down girl's pants as a "prank"
The 15-year-old boy approached the 14-year-old girl from behind while she was talking with a friend and pulled down her pants in front of a group of people. He could be charged with sexual battery for what some are calling a prank. (Daily Press)

"Prank" my @ss.
This kid is a class A idiot who deserves worse than what he's likely to get.

At 15, the kid knows better. Punishment fits the crime in this case.

A prank??? a PRANK???? Lets pull this little sh*ts pants down in the town square and see how F'in funny it is! Obviously he is a SOCIAL RETARD with the IQ of a 4 year old. If this was my daughter this kid would be getting his "pants pulled down" in court, stupid little POS.
Posted by: jj | Mar 19, 2008 7:59:27 AM
Put him in jail for a few days with some big guy named Bubba. Then he won't think it's so funny to have your pants pulled down around your ankles.
Posted by: G-Man | Mar 19, 2008 7:59:45 AM
throw him in a room alone with a priest

Really...give me a break. Whatever happened to teaching discipline, disciplining, correcting misbehavior, and teaching appropriate behavior that didn't involve calling the cops and bringing in the court system, lawyers, lawsuits, etc. Doesn't anyone have a better way of addressing this kind of behavior?

Crucify him!!!

It seems that not only can the schools not teach but they have no ability to control short of calling the Po PO.

I think there is a magical age when pulling someone's pants down in public becomes prurient, and not just a childish prank.
This kid is probably past that age.
But the boys in junior high who tugged at my shorts on the stairs? Embarrassing, definitely, but assault? Uh-uh.
Posted by: some chick | Mar 19, 2008 8:20:30 AM
Wow. Idiot.
Pantsing another guy? Okay, funny ha ha.
A girl? Especially in public? Never okay. Just don't f'ing do it.

Come on it was a prank although a very bad one , does this kid really deserve to be tagged as a sexual assualter for the rest of his life?, no I don't believe so just pull his pants down in front of the whole school assembly and make sure he has no underware on . When he has to show the no balls and short penis I am sure he has he will never think about doing, let alone doing this again. But no don't ruin his life forever over one little stupid choice. The world has gone mad to even think of charging him with sexual assult it was a mean prank leave it at that. And don't send the girl to a head shrink all they do is try to give you someone else to blame and say I am the way I am because they did this ti me,,,get a life people and grow up and grow a pair, we don't need all this crap let kids go through the school of hard knocks I did and I am a better and wiser person for it.
Posted by: Dan | Mar 19, 2008 8:28:56 AM
To clarify, not in private, either.
Posted by: banjiboi | Mar 19, 2008 8:29:36 AM
Mom and Dad should've taught the kid that pantsing his brothers or best friends is fine but NOT TO DO IT TO GIRLS. Kids just don't think. I don't care if they're 5, 10 or 15...there is some sort of mental block that delays the consequences synapse in their brain.
Posted by: Cherie | Mar 19, 2008 8:30:31 AM
My friend did this to me a few months ago on the volleyball courts. Was it embarassing? Hell yes! Was it assault? No.
This kid should know better, but then again, my friend is 33 and doesn't know better!

This just continues to prove the difference between Men and women. I have 3 brothers and a bunch of male friends...their minds work so differently. Guys are tappin each others balls as a joke, pantsing each other...talking about poop and farts... You just dont see girls or women getting together, slappin each other in the p*ssy or bashing our boobs together, gulping down beer and discussing the last sh*t we took. Women are just more refined.
Posted by: Cherie | Mar 19, 2008 8:49:43 AM
Good God, the first 4 or 5 responses to this one make me want to vomit. That many people didn't think it was a prank? Kids "pants" each other all the time. Yes, it was stupid and immmature, but that is what 15 years olds do. Why does everyone feel the need to run to the cops about every little thing that goes wrong. WAH WAH WAH, is all I hear from the grown babies we are raising in this country.
If that was my daughter, I'd go talk to the kid myself. I wouldn't even need to lay a finger on him, and I guarantee he wouldn't do it again.
Posted by: insano | Mar 19, 2008 9:04:14 AM
Oh my...Pantsing... When I was a little girl, my brother pants one of his buddies there in the living room at home. He and the other boys thought it was funny. Mom didn't. Basically she told them, that she realizes that you are boys and boys do that kind of stuff. Mom asked them if you are going to do that, please see to it that your sisters aren't in the room and left it at that. She didn't make it a federal case, didn't yell. From then on, it never happened in front of us girls again.
Now the boy that pants the girl, he is asking for a lot of trouble.
Wikipedia defines assault: Simple assault can be distinguished without the intent of injury upon another person. Simple assault can consist simply of the violation of ones personal space or touching in a way the victim deemed inappropriate. (i.e. ones personal space consists of arms reach.)

>>And don't send the girl to a head shrink<<
What does this have to do with anything discussed in the story? It was never brought up.
Posted by: andie | Mar 19, 2008 9:15:06 AM
@ Cherie
Agreed. Men and women are different. It's just that simple.
Posted by: banjiboi | Mar 19, 2008 9:15:54 AM
Unfortunately for him, the law defines his act as a crime as i_be_labrat said. But come on GUYS, your forgetting the testosterone storm raging within him that causes him to think with the other head. If any of you GUYS tell me you didn't do stupid crap involving annoying a chick at that age, you're either lying or suffered from nerd-dom. Not some sense of decency or justice in your heads at that age, any more than mine!
Cherie, you just kill me sometimes. Personally, I'd love to see your chick version you described. LOL!
Posted by: Mikey | Mar 19, 2008 9:33:11 AM
lawdog, you're right. It wasn't assault. It was battery. And apparently in this case the girl minded.

This just continues to prove the difference between Men and women.

I have seen this thing where guys tap each others' balls and fart on each other and such. I have to admit, though, that it's not something I grew up with. When I was growing up, I never saw any of this until I got to 8th grade. By then I had moved from a predominately minority neighborhood to a predominately white neighborhood. I won't go so far as to say that it's a white thing, but I will say that I don't really see this in "the hood". I will agree that men and women are very different. However, if women will agree so much on the fact that men and women are different (which is obvious), why do women complain when they aren't treated as equals?
Posted by: Naga Please! | Mar 19, 2008 9:56:20 AM
Well nolo, I didn't think it was battery either. And I did mind. But, should my friend be labeled as a sex offender over it? No way.
I don't think this kid should be branded as a sex offender either.
Posted by: lawdog | Mar 19, 2008 9:56:36 AM
Yet another reason to homeschool. Public schools are little more than asylums for juvenile delinquents, staffed by incompetent, brain-dead, union bureaucrats. I would hazard much more of this kind of behavior is unreported. The public schools are irreparably broken.
Posted by: Dick Tater | Mar 19, 2008 10:16:25 AM
From what I saw in the article, the matter was being referred to juvenile court. The likelihood is the boy won't be labeled as anything. As for what your friend did, yeh, it was battery. If you didn't consent to it, yep, it was battery. You know -- unconsented-to touching = battery. Tort law 101. If you didn't mind what your friend did enough to call the cops, though, that's up to you. This 14 year old girl who may or may not have been "friends" with the 15 year old boy who decided to pull her pants down in public apparently saw her situation differently. I respect your choice as well as hers.

nolo's response is actually most to the point on this whole deal.

"I won't go so far as to say that it's a white thing, but I will say that I don't really see this in "the hood"."
Maybe people in the hood are smart enough to know that this could get them shot.

No, "women" do not agree that women are always more refined. I would say women and men generally have some very crucial (and delicious) differences, but I would not say a difference in gender means I am not the equal of any man I choose to be. Different does not mean lesser.
Posted by: WZ | Mar 19, 2008 10:36:14 AM
I've looked under the hood many many times and have NEVER seen anyone do this.
Then I closed the hood.
However, there WERE things going on in the back seat.
Posted by: A.V. | Mar 19, 2008 10:37:56 AM
Actually it's just as common in the hood, in the schools. Not necessarily all schools or all the time, but it happens, usually the girl is wearing sweats. No, its not nice, not funny (except to the idiot doing it and a couple of his idiot pals), and not acceptable. But it happens.
Posted by: mike | Mar 19, 2008 11:03:47 AM
Naga, I attended 6 different public schools before graduating and spent 1 year of high school at a charter. I never saw the behavior Cherie described at the schools with a mixed population. When we moved out into the country, the area was so white it glowed in the dark. Talk about juvenile behavior!
Ball taps, monkey bubbles, ring raps, pantsing, loogie races, noogies, butt slaps, etc...
I got "reverse-pantsed" at that high school. I was wearing a typical 80s ruffly miniskirt and a younger student (9th, I think) flipped the back up while he was walking by. All I did about it was yell at him. Granted, the kid was "special" because his daddy accidentally ran him over with a tractor and he had the mentality of a 4th grader. If it had been any other kid, I probably would have run him down and put him in a head lock until he begged for mercy. But, that's just me.
Posted by: Soo | Mar 19, 2008 11:15:30 AM
As it is with most women, they would chop off his balls and shove them down his throat just for touching her ass. That's why we have laws and the court system to take care of the infraction. Expel him, put him on probation and make his parents pay for private skool.
Remember the movie "Unforgiven" the whore got her face cut up and when the other whores got their money together to kill the cowboys that did it? In the end, a whole lot of people died because one stinking filthy whore laughed at a guy because he had a little dick. Typical female reaction..........
What the point should be is he might be labeled a sexual predator on account of this and that is excessive. Yeah he went too far, but that doesn't give the vindictive women a right to go too far with him also. So the girl might need a little therapy, make him pay for it and just get over the vindictiveness....
Another thing that is excessive is, that under "zero tolerence" rules the girl could be expelled if she had hit him afterwards, self defence or not. Then she would have to get a lawyer. Columbine precautions - government style.
Posted by: Ted | Mar 19, 2008 11:26:34 AM
Different does not mean lesser.
But different does mean "not the same". Now you can say you're equal or not equal. I'll agree to either one. It's gotta be either/or. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Maybe people in the hood are smart enough to know that this could get them shot.
Now this isn't to say that guys in low income areas don't pull down girls' pants. We do, but it's to get the nasty going on; not for shits and giggles.
Posted by: Naga Please! | Mar 19, 2008 11:26:51 AM
I accidently pantsed a kid when I was in 1st grade. I fell off the jungle gym and as I was falling, my hands were grabbing at whatever they could reach. Unfortunately, they grabbed a kid's sweats. I'll never forget the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles underware I saw that day.....I felt so bad....and almost got into major trouble. When my teacher found out it was an accident, I didn't get into any trouble but she kept her EYE on me the rest of the year--a big blue gooey one.....
Posted by: twerp | Mar 19, 2008 11:27:30 AM
"...one stinking filthy whore..."
Go on, Ted. Tell us how you really feel!
PS: If whores are stinking and filthy, what are the guys who throw down the cash that keeps them employed?
****
Also, I agree that zero tolerance is bad. It takes reason and discretion out of the hands of the administrators, removing their need to think for themselves and judge each incident individually.
In my case, poor Rawly would'a been sent to juvy had this happened yesterday.

at 15 don't most boys tease and abuse the girls they like the best? when they are younger and they like a girl they hit her with their favorite toy-same thing
Posted by: Lambiepie | Mar 19, 2008 11:47:19 AM
When I was a teenager in the 70s it was easier too.
However, after "Carrie" women seem to think they can go nuclear just cause they get embarrassed. Kill everybody at prom night just cause she got embarressed.
All I want is justice and fairness. When our Nazi government skool system gets involved the results are always over board and everybody is the worse for it.

No, at 15 most boys are making out with the girls they like the best, or like to some extent at least. If you are old enough to actually have sex, stuff like this shouldn't fly. There was a school full of girls I would have looooooved to "pantse" at 15. Hell, seven even. I was an early bloomer!

But give the kid a warning.

When adults start pantsing each other then I'll be worried. This happened in my high school and it was funny as he11. In the 9th grade I pantsed the class president in gym and it still makes me laugh to this day. He was a good sport and the class clown so this type of behavior didn't offend him so much as embarrass the crap out of him with his tiger stripped bikini briefs...LOL

he just used the "prank" excuse because he wanted to see if she was wearing a thong....

Several years ago, my two best friends and I were at a HUGE Labor Day picnic. There were easily several hundred people in attendance. The three of us were standing with a group of people, just talking. Suddenly, one of my friends’ other friends came up behind him and did an attempted pantsing.
Unfortunately for my best friend, the other guy misjudged and did a pantsing as well as a shortsing.
I have NEVER seen ANYONE move as fast as my friend did. And I’m sitting at my desk laughing all over again.

perhaps pantsings aren't common in the hood 'cause their pants are already halfway down? Wouldn't that take some of the fun out of it?
Posted by: fermata | Mar 19, 2008 2:26:39 PM
i had my britches yanked down in gym class in the 10th grade
i hit the kid who did it and he fell and cut his hand on a locker
an hour later his dad, who was a cop in our county, came to the school and arrested me for aggravated battery and took me to the johnson county juvenile detention center, where i languished for 17 days
when i finally got my day in court i explained my side (i was defending my young narrow ass from an obvious flamer) and 2 days later i went home on unsupervised probation for 30 days
the kid i hit was expelled for the year and his dad got sued for hitting me but he died of a heart attack before the court date came around

Unless you're a lowrider. In that case, it'd be hard to do a pantsing because the suspenders would keep the pants up.

This pants yanking punk is well on his way to being the guy who sexually harasses our daughters, sisters and wives at work and in school. His DAD or significant male role model needs to TEAR HIS ASS UP !! This stuff is stuff men need to tell other men it NOT COOL ,FUNNY,CUTE, OR OK. It's degrading, disrespectful and wrong. He should get the max for this stunt and he should start with a public apology and go from there.
We sent our girl to an all girls school in the hope of avoiding this kind of garbage. And doesn't she get expelled over some remarks she and her pals made against another girl who tried to get her expelled last year with false charges. When the school called and we figured out it was her nemesis again also with the help of her mommy again we asked for a conference. Last year Mommy was president of the PTO and the kid's Grandpa is a rich local businessman whom the school honored with their Mater Christi Award. Can you say DONOR ? The school blew us off for 4 days on our conference then finally invited us in to tell us Claire was expelled because she and we had a bad attitude. Then they (catholic school) called the cops on us before asking us to leave. It was mind boggling. Since I started a blog to get my story out I was told by my lawyer that their lawyers from a high powered firm said if I contact them or their trustees again they will sue me. Two weeks later they called my lawyer again and said if anyone supporting my kid calls them any more or their trustees they will sue me. Essentially they think since they don't have to follow NY State Ed. law that they don't have to follow the US Constitution either !! Please look at this site if you can and comment if you care to. It's at http://justice4claire.blogspot.com/ It's written in the tradition of great Irish satirists if you like that kind of stuff it's also comic and tragic both. Also interesting is the way they are trying to spin their way out of it on their site > Immaculataacademy.com If you emailed them how would I know ? Ar, ar, ar Peace !
