Another "Jackass"-inspired stunt?: Trio assault passed-out pal
Don't party with these guys!: Three young men accused of beating, sodomizing and setting their passed-out friend on fire earlier this month may have been inspired by the MTV show "Jackass," according to their friends. (KAUT.com)

My friends are sooo dull. We watched Jackass all the time, and never sodomized each other.

Everything that happens in life
Can happen in a show
You can make 'em laugh
You can make 'em cry
Anything
Anything can go....
The clown with his pants falling down
Or the dance that's a dream of romance
Or the scene where the villain is mean
That's entertainment!

ouch my ass hurts just thinking about it!!!

You know, I don't remember there being anything like this on the movies, and I watched the "unrated" versions (I will need therapy forever). However, I didn't watch the televised programs, except for this one episode in which Knoxville puts himself inside a full porta-potty and the others turn it upside down and then rightside up.
As stupid as the Jackass crew can be, I can't see them torturing anyone like that. Sure, you can shave your pubic hair (including the guy with crabs) and turn it into a fake beard and mustache for an unwitting friend and then set him up for a fake hostage situation, but sodomy? Burning him alive?
And from the photos, they don't even look like they feel bad about what they did. Waste of carbon right there.

"may have been inspired by the MTV show "Jackass,""
or they may just be a bunch of jerks. When is the whole "Jackass made me do it" going to stop being a scapegoat?

Yeah, I kinda doubt that the guys on jackass beat somebody and set them on fire to the point that they needed plastic surgery. The Jackass defense just ain't gonna cut it this time. I have a feeling though, that these guys are going to find out why they call prison "the slammer".

true story. i was on a camping trip with some friends and late at night fell asleep (well, maybe passed out)in the grass. They thought it would be cool to make a circle around me with lighter fluid, light it, and take pictures. But being the good friends they are they made the circle extra wide and doused me with water first so I wouldn't catch on fire. That woke me up and spoiled their fun. Could it have turned out worse? Possibly, but it didn't, and we've had a lot of laughs over it over the years.

just cause some snot-nosed kid tells you they "may have been inspired by jackass", doesn't mean you have to put it in print... there's a reason they hire adults to write news articles.

These boys need their freedom revoked.

I beat and set my friends on fire all the time but I draw the line at poking them in the anus. Beating someone and setting them on fire never did that much damage to them. That is why we have burn centers and hospitals to stick them back together.
BTW, I think American Idol is to blame, not Jackass.

Five or ten years back it would have been Doom or that ilk.
(Maybe we are growing up? No? Thought not.)

They burned the guys face. This is beyound silly games. All three should have their face burned an equal amount.

Wow... what pals! If by "pals" you mean "shitweeds."

It's a sad situation when a person feels they have to submit to abuse to be accepted. It's a sad situation when person feels they have to abuse in order to be accepted. The common denominator of both the victim and the perpetrator is: they both do what they do in order to be accepted; both have low self esteem.
All four of these kids need some serious help! Unfortunately, prison won't give it to the perpetrators nor will plastic surgery truly heal the victim.
Did 'Jackass' cause this? No, this is a cycle of violence that's been going on ever since we climbed out of the primeval slime, however, one would hope that, by this point in our evolution, we'd be past it.

This is like a hazing incident gone terribly wrong.

I'm with Icecycle but I don't think it'd be doom, it'd be Beavis and Butthead. I'm tired of people blaming tv/video games for their cruel and stupid actions.

I am glad I don't have friends like these. Imagine what they might do to you if you pissed em off!!!

Wow, I thought drawing on the person in permanent marker or shaving an eyebrow off was bad in my younger days. This is outrageous - instead of blaming a lame television show they should own up to their actions. Gonna get no sympathy from a judge saying "jackass made me do it."

This is just the kinda thing where the judge gives them probation.

Back in high school (and this was a while ago), I ran around with the band geeks and the smart kids (being one myself). Well, just because we were of above average intelligence, didn't mean we didn't do dumb things. One birthday party at a friends house, I fell asleep first (still not uncommon). My friends decided it would be great fun to turn me into a sundae by spraying whipped cream in various places and putting walnuts in my nose. Needless to say, I wasn't really thrilled when I woke up the next moring.

I don't buy that this was hazing, teasing or they were "friends." The kid they beat, raped and torched was their whipping boy. Someone they kept around to make themselves feel bigger, better and amused. That kid will forever suffer the physical and emotional damage done to him. Not to mention the residual guilt he'll more than likely feel for his "participation" in the event by tolerating their ongoing abuse. These kids should be sent away for a long time. More than likely though one or two will testify against the other(s)and only one will do serious time. What a waste!

The homoerotic angle could apply to Jackass, but the violence is strictly sociopathic.
This calls for lengthy jail terms and forced bunking with a celly nicknamed BootyBandit.
