Limbaugh suggests that even non-addicts try some rehab
![]()
"My five weeks in rehab at The Meadows were among the best times in my life," says Rush Limbaugh. "I would recommend it even to people who are not addicted." Monthly probation reports don't list anyone visiting the radio talker. Isn't it lonely at the mansion? "I successfully cultivated the image of a recluse," he says. "But I wished I were more alone. I've got 65 family members coming for Thanksgiving." (Palm Beach Post)

Perhaps with enough Oxycontin in your system, it wouldn't be too intolerable, SIL.
That and even without having Rush in my family tree, I recall as a young tot that relatives who on their own were models of moderation and restraint always tended to get heavily soused when gathered en masse for Thanksgiving or other family events.

He is a piece of sh*t. The guy who said that drug users "ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."
When that fat bastard dies of a heart attack, hopefully soon, I will dance a jig.

This guy is small potatoes. I am still waiting for someone to stick a sock in Michael Savage's mouth.

This guy is small potatoes.
No one is small potatoes who has millions of people who follow his every command.

Rush Limbaugh is a patriot and could out-debate any of the libtards that frequent this site.

Rush Limbaugh is an idiot and couldn't debate himself out of a paper bag. He's all bluster and a complete hypocrite.

Rush only "wins" debates because he controls the cutoff switch.
He is beneath contempt.

in the dictionary the definition of hypocrite should have a picture of this pig
GM & JJ, I say we have a 'kick line' ala the rockettes

I respect Rush in a fashion that...he's been smart enough to get himself a national talk show and a large group of listeners. I rarely agree with him but he has a right to his opinion just like the left wing wackos have a right to theirs. I'd pay to see a debate between Rush and Al Gore...just for the entertainment factor!

Since Mr Limbaugh is now completely deaf (due to his drug abuse) and Mr. Gore seems to be unable to sustain facial expressions or other expressive movement, I don't think a debate between them would be especially edifying.

Respecting someone because he's smart enough to get himself a national talk show and a large group of listeners is a good example of misplaced values. I suppose you also respect Paris Hilton and all the other attention whores out there.
Rush succeeds only because there are enough grumpy old men to give him an audience. Same with Bill O-Reilly, who's average viewer is a 65-year-old white male. These guys are angry and of course it's everybody else's fault their old age is so miserable and male menopause has made them so weak and ineffectual.

I hear you. Speaking of fat bastards, I can't wait until that that other fat bastard hypocrite, Michael Moore decides to turn in and take a dirt nap.

"My objective during this battle with the state attorney was to make sure my business would not be harmed and my credibility not damaged"
What an odd thing for that chubby gay feller to say. How could being revealed as a drug addict NOT affect his business or damage his credibility?

Take away his money and not only would he be alone but he also would be in prison. I know someone who is a guard in a medium security prison. The guard claims the majority of the inmates were low income teenagers who got nabbed for minor drug offenses. If they could have afforded a lawyer they probally would have gotten probation like Rump Ranger Rush.

At least he has debates. Guys like Keith Olbermann just put on puppets who agree with them.

rehab for people who aren't stupid enough to get addicted to anything are called vacations.

Aha, the real identity of Swarthy Troll is revealed!
Man, how I wish he'd go on the Colbert Report, but I'm sure he doesn't have the balls or the modicum of a sense of humor required to be a guest.
I think my favorite part of the article is where he admits he's not very good at taking criticism. Really? Ironies know no bounds and he is certainly irony deficient.
I remember when reports came out about 4 years ago that he had lost his hearing (a side effect of abusing the oxy and whatever else was in his pharmo cocktail) I remember being delighted because he was going to miss the thing that was dearest to him: hearing the sound of his own voice.
And, uh, Rush, you can take another one of these rehab "vacations" at a nice cushy fat farm. Excuse me, the PC term is "spa," I believe.
Posted by: andie | Oct 5, 2007 1:53:17 PM
It was the oxy that killed his hearing. One of the tell tale signs of high end oxycontin abuser.
You have to be practically shipping bucketloads down your craw to sustain hearing loss (and have built up the tolerance necessary not die from respiritory failure) but it can be done.
He does have a great sound engineer though. Whoever the little SOB is, he's managed to keep RL from sounding like he can't track his volume, pacing, or response time.

"Since Mr Limbaugh is now completely deaf (due to his drug abuse)"
Are you serious??!!!

My sister is a lawyer, my brother is a conservative talk show host, and I hate Thanksgiving.
Posted by: debilsadvocado | Oct 5, 2007 2:59:30 PM
Rush is only partially deaf. Some of his hearing returned when he cleaned up and yes the hearing loss was due to his drug abuse. One of the long term side effects to Oxy addiction.
2ndly I dont find my values to be misplaced. I'm comfortable with them and know right where they are. Just because I dont always agree with Rush doesn't mean I cant respect him. Hes a good businessman, he is extremely intelligent and not only has the ability to form his own opinions but he's not afraid to voice them, no matter what other people think. I'm also not going to bash him for having had to battle a drug addiction. There are millions of people that have battled addictions, but fortunately for them they didn't have to do it sounded by a media storm.
