Borat makes it tough for real news crew from Kazakhstan

Bort
A TV crew from Kazakhstan's Channel 31 was in Columbus, Ohio to make a real documentary on the U.S. political system, but the crew got a wary reception from press secretaries who feared public skewering by comedian and "Borat" star Sacha Baron Cohen. It didn't help that the Kazakh cameraman's first name was "Bolat." (Cleveland Plain Dealer)

It didn't help that the Kazakh journalists showed up wearing blue hats.

So long as they didn't show up wearing that oh-so-special swimsuit, they can wear all the blue hats they want!

in other borat news: He caused the divorce of pam anderson and kid rock.

"The New York Post quotes a friend of the former Baywatch star revealing Kid Rock's reaction to seeing the film [Borat]: "He didn't like it... [he] started screaming at Pam, saying she had humiliated herself and telling her 'You're nothing but a whore! How could you do that movie?' in front of everybody."

I think Mr Rock is mixing up this movie with "everything else she's ever done with her career."

Why would anyone care about American politics? Not enough to make a movie about it

"Bolat" ... isn't that the Chinese pronunciation? (not nesecelery I suppose)

I must say I feel sorry for that film crew. Can you imagine going around from that country, with a film crew no less, and trying to prove you weren't Borat or affiliated with him?

Isn't it funny about free speech? We can absolutely trash public officials and their families, make wild allegations about people in the sports and entertainment industry and have how many TV shows that are about nothing but gossip but have something like Borat come along and ridicule a society that is so NOT about personal freedoms and freedom of speech and people get nervous. It is impossible to make any sense of what is political correctness because it is completely inconsistent. Borat should be judged on whether he is funny or not and much of the time he is funny. I am not going to put my hand over my mouth when I laugh because a lot of people have struggled mightily to preserve our freedoms. I have no obligation to respect medieval backward oppressive countries.
