The real problem here is poor and/or careless weapon handling. Ten bucks says the girl's finger went on the trigger as soon as she picked the shotgun up.
And while I admit that there is an element of trailer park gothic here, the fact remains that someone died in a tragic accident-- the kind that also happens in upscale communities. Please save your comments about bad teeth and inbreeding for an occasion when they're relevant, Mr. Bagadonuts. Lord knows we White Southerners could go on and on about the foibles of the expatriate Yankees who've been moving down here (were we not excruciatingly polite to our boorish guests).

Let's go over this act of Darwinism:
1) What the hell do you need a shotgun in a trailer park?
2) Why would it be stored loaded?
3) Why in the hell would you have buckshot in it? Why not just move on up to a slug, that way it could travel through several trailers when you fired it?
4) Where in the hell was it stored that it had to be moved to do something else?
5) To fire it, the lass would have to put her finger on the trigger and the safety would have to be off. The former is just stupidity on the girl's part, the latter is stupidity on the gun owner's part.
6) It wouldn't be surprising to learn that this is no accident, the girl was just tired of the white southern charms of finding a drunk and horny father crawling into her bed every night. If so, good for her.
